Planetwatcher.com is a great website if you want to check the planets and what theyre doin btw
the sun sign is something that we develop – its our ego, our sense of coherent identity, our chosen self, our plans. you can repress your sun sign, or not have the room to express it. some people might not ever get the chance to develop their sun. but the very raw beginnings of those qualities will be there.
i guess that’s why you can often see the ‘flaws’ of people’s sun signs, especially younger people. developing your sun is the work of a lifetime. it is the key to processing the rest of your chart: dealing with the wounds and impulses of the moon, the mental plane of mercury, the aggression and assertion of mars, the unregulated cravings of venus. it brings each planet to light, allowing us to be able to consciously see how they fit into our wider self. how we act on that self-knowledge depends on the way our sun works with our ascendant.
aspects to the sun bring other planets closer to our integral ego, giving it other needs, often coming in the form of circumstances and people before we realise that our life journey might be more complex. we might carry intergenerational wounds, people in our families or communities who could not express their sense of self in the past. particularly if you have parents whose creative urges were repressed, or who did not have self-autonomy. the circumstances that restricted them could come to you again in the form of a saturn-sun aspect. neptune-sun suggests creative wounds, or the self sacrificed for something ‘higher’, like religion or a greater cause. uranus-sun indicates sudden trauma, instability, and political movement blocking self-expression. pluto-sun comes from deeper traumas, complex histories, power structures, sabotage and manipulation getting in the way of the self shining. once unearthed and processed, all of these aspects become part of the sun’s light. the harsh aspects automatically draw away from the sun, taking energy to work through, but as they are understood for what they are and smoothed over, they inform your sense of self as process. a gemini sun is not automatically everything a gemini can be. especially with harsh aspects. but a gemini sun with harsh aspects can become a strong gemini sun with time, one that understands the need for growth and process.
i feel like it takes getting to know the undeveloped sun, accepting it fully for what it is, before we can build on it. each of a sign’s ‘flaws’ corresponds to its strengths. part of developing your sun sign is choosing yourself as your sun sign. i choose to be a capricorn, and in that, i choose to be ambitious and occasionally cold and reserved, but also quietly strong and persevering, and i choose the history that led to that. healthy sun sign identification gives you a sense of autonomy and freedom, allowing you to step back from what is going on inside you and figure out what you truly want from life.
What part of yourself you will destroy in order to start all over again
Pluto in 1st: Yourself and you will create a new you to the point people won’t recognize you.
Pluto in 2nd: Yourself worth; you will keep question whether you set the right value for your or for the definition of money to you.
Pluto in 3rd: Your way thinking; will keep destroying the way of speaking in order to create another form of speech that is more powerful and deep. also might end relationships with your siblings because they cause you trouble.
Pluto in 4th: You will destroy the meaning of family and create your own meaning of family, you also might have disputes with your family a lot.
Pluto in 5th: You will destroy your happiness so you can keep finding another form of it and also every time your passion about something ends you delete everything about that something you were passionate about and find something new.
Pluto in 6th: Your diet if you have one and will look for another but the destruction will be related to your work. you will be so perfectionist and passionate about it to the point of destruction and this will affect your health thus making your re overthink your work method.
Pluto in 7th: Your relationships with your partners; as you will make sure to end it before they do cause you always think either that you are too intense for them or they will find some sort of flaw in you that will make them leave you. also problems with intimacy.
Pluto in 8th: You will destroy the depth of yourself in order to create another one, everything you do and or make has to have meaning. you demand even deep relationships from others and just like Pluto in 7th you also may have problems related to intimacy as you do not open up easily.
Pluto in 9th: Your will destroy your belief system and will create another one and every time you think you finally found the perfect or ideal belief you will discover that there some flaws in it and will recreate it again. you need to understand that there’s no such think as an ultimate beliefs, all beliefs have flaws and maybe you should accept that. also when you travel you travel for a goal in mind, not for the fun of it.
Pluto in 10th: You destroy your public image and produce it in a different way that will keep people waiting for what you will do next. also you will destroy your relationship with an authority (father) or all of the authorities. will always have a deep set of enmity towards that father because you believe that you should rule the home not him.
Pluto in 11th: You will destroy your friendships and will be dropping them so easily as if they meant nothing to you. The minute they start to behave or say stuff you do not like you end this relationship silently and move on and try to find another set of group that shares your same view and ideas. ruthlessly idealistic.
Pluto in 12: You will destroy your own subconscious through the terrible dreams that you see, they usually start nice but end in terror. Your subconscious won’t let you sleep easily and at times you will try to escape sleeping so you won’t have to see those dreams. can be super psychic but usually this talent comes with a price.
The House that the Sun resides in is where you infuse a part of your ego, your identity, where your personal light will shine.
The House of the Moon inspires intuition, but will wax and wane like the Moon. It also gives you an emotional connection to this area.
In the House that Mercury resides in, you will feel curious, inquisitive and want to dive into it intellectually.
The House that Venus resides in will inspire creativity, inter-relational development and possibly romance.
The House of Mars inspires a pioneering spirit, ambition, but also conflict and at times, rage.
The House that Jupiter resides in is one of knowledge, expansion, Luck, enrichment, but also excess and at times, recklessness.
The House of Saturn can bring frustration, stunting, strict lessons, but one day, an area of expertise and enlightenment.
The House that Uranus resides in brings rebellion, individual ways of doing things, sudden disruptions, awakening and instability.
The House of Neptune brings longing, the break down of barriers, illusion and disillusion.
And Lastly, the house of Pluto brings the shattering of the ego, pain, power dynamics, destruction, death and rebirth.
I was wondering how one uses a planetary symbol in a spell? Thanks!
- Carve it into a candle and let it burn down past the symbol
- Make a crystal grid in the shape of the symbol
- Arrange herbs or flowers in the shape of the symbol
- Draw the symbol on paper or a bay leaf and burn it
- Make an oil out of planetary herbs or oils and anoint yourself with it - I like to use my success oil and draw the Saturn symbol on myself with it
- Draw it on paper and use it as a backdrop for your altar or the area you’re performing the spell
- Simply use it as a sigil by drawing it somewhere, charging it, and carrying it with you
- Use those bath crayons and draw the symbol in the bathtub or shower
the moon: the quintessential mother figure, a swelling stomach shaped like the moon, cradling a baby, a lamp in your eyes guiding you into her arms, darling come home she whispers
jupiter: bellowing laughter emanating from the biggest mansion in the land, inside an overweight man eating an icecream cake for breakfast, he is dressed in every colour of the rainbow, philanthropic and generous, the more of his endless money he gives to others the more jovial he becomes
mercury: androgynous twins, handsome and young, mischievous and wicked quick, playing tricks, vanishing, and lighter than air. they were there in a moment and gone in the next, but you can hear the chatter in the ether
neptune: a siren of the sea, a mermaid rising from the ocean singing her sweet song, follow me child into my extraordinary world, come dear child i will give you everything you ever wanted… and you find her among the mist, everything is not what it seems…
saturn: an old wizard holding an hourglass in a library of knowledge and books. he strokes his long beard as he considers and contemplates, he is draped in a robe of glory, his cottage resting on the tallest mountaintop
venus: the deepest spell of beauty you see reflected in the face of others

🌟 💫 ✨ my notes
- Saturn is seen as a malefic planet because it causes struggles, delays and insecurities wherever it is placed. However, without Saturn’s lessons in our charts, there would be no reality, no structure and no growth…what is so malefic about that? Saturn is only trying to do what’s best for you, to teach you
- Having harsh aspects and debilitated planets are good, they are not bad. It is the most difficult aspects that give the most genuine lessons that will allow growth and evolving, especially when Saturn is involved. An abundance of harmonious aspects and placements won’t get to experience the same empowering self-journey.
- As each sign progresses to the next, they take on traits from the sign before it. That is why Aries is the youngest of the zodiac and the most genuine expression and Pisces is the oldest with the most changeable expression; Aries is a newborn baby, there is no sign before it to inherit traits from and Pisces bears the burden of All.
- Cancer and Pisces are the manipulators of the zodiac. Cancer is the moon and like the moon, it reflects and redirects and only shows you the side it wants you to see. Pisces is Neptune and like Neptune, what you see is just an illusion and what you want to see, not what’s really there.
- There’s nothing wrong about being biased or having favorite signs. Unless you’re the avatar and have a balance of all the elements (or planets, signs, modalities), you will inevitably be biased about other placements. You will be biased because of your birth charts. This is not the same as the “based on people I know” scenario, which by the way, is an awful mentality. “I’ve had a few bad experiences with ___ so I’m iffy of them” is not a justification.
- Enough with the “down with the archetypes.” Gemini’s archetype is actively chatty (among other things), Cancer’s archetype is emotional and whiny (among other things), Virgo’s archetype is picky, analytical and critical (among other things) and so on and so forth. Now. Understand what the houses mean, then look to where that sign is placed in your chart. For example: Gemini on the 4th house cusp=chatty with family and at home, were more chatty as children vs Gemini on the 12th house cusp=chatty when they are alone, chatty without realizing and chatty in their own minds. Same thing goes for the planet archetypes. Archetypes are never wrong, people are just not applying them correctly. Archetypes do not come out of nowhere, they come from the signs and houses the signs rule, the planets that rule the signs/houses, the elements they reside in, their modalities, polarities and more. We all have the 12archetypes in us, people are just rejecting the ones they don’t understand.
- Astrology is neutral.
- Stop wasting your time trying to convince skeptics. I’m not even going to elaborate, just stop doing it.
- Don’t ever look at placements as a standalone, you’re setting yourself up to “not relate” to it.
- If you “don’t relate” to a placement, you’re rejecting it/being selective/not coming to terms with it/are unaware or you’re just still learning, you know?
- Not everything you read about your chart and about astrology is going to be sparkles and rainbows. You will be offended and you will see negative [archetypal] traits to your placements. I’ve seen and know people who have looked at their birth chart, and who have been explained their placements, but refused to accept it simply because what they read wasn’t what they wanted to hear (negative archetypal traits). Instead of being upset over facts, know that the stars may impel but they do not compel. In other words, the stars influence and persuade, but it’s you who makes the ultimate choice.
- “””Compatibility””” is a myth. We have all of the archetypes in us, proof that anyone can be with anyone. Of course, you’ll be biased and lean towards certain placements that appeal to you and that fact is what people confuse as compatibility. Instead of the needless “down with the archetypes” lets root for “down with compatibility.” If you’re still dead-set on seeing if someone is “”compatible”” with you, look into to synastry. Even then, synastry will never tell you if the relationship will work, because it’s how the people involved are making it work.
- Air moons have the most unpredictable and unstable emotions. Earth moons have the most predictable, yet stable emotions. Fire moons have the most genuine but explosive emotions. Water moons have the most complex but self-destructive emotions.
- Having the same sun and moon makes a person surer of themselves, their identity and of their wants and needs especially if conjunct, while someone with sun square or opposite moon have an internal struggle concerning their wants and needs.
- 7th house is a shadow house. Anything that resides there or any planets conjunct the descendant will be parts of you that you reject about yourself, yet hypocritically project onto others.
When a planet falls into the...
- 1st House: it becomes part of your persona
- 2nd House: it is made insecure
- 3rd House: it is expressed in your communication
- 4th House: it is made private
- 5th House: it colors your self-expression/creativity
- 6th House: it needs daily work
- 7th House: it is projected onto others
- 8th House: it is kept secret
- 9th House: it colors your worldview
- 10th House: it is made public
- 11th House: it will continually improve
- 12th House: it is neglected
the 8th house concerns itself with invisible mystique… sometimes people with uranus in the 8th house can have a prophetic knowledge of when death will occur, and pluto in the 8th is inherently bonded with their own immortality, the infinite continuation of their spirit, the continuation of light they are sort of karmic lords. neptune in the 8th mysteries surround the dead and their seamless voyages from consciousness to obliteration, as if they imitate a death like state saturn in the 8th house seems to have spiritual debts to pay in the material world. the dream state here can be quite profound, however terrifying. jupiter in the 8th is drawn to the lustre of spirituality, the symbolism of religion, they seem to celebrate the idea of death in the way they revere the gift of life mars in the 8th house is on a crusade through invisible battlefields. this is psychic power. venus in the 8th evokes them mysteries of love, the continuation of bonds once the spirit has crossed over, til death do us part. and moon in the 8th house wanes into a spiritual sensitivity that is rich with ancestral guardianship, passed love ones speak through them, and those who stood before them. mercury in the 8th plan and do everything in secret. everything about them is a mystery. they communicate with unseen forces, mostly unwillingly. sun in the 8th turns inward, using solar light to illuminate 8th house shadow, to turn a lantern on the eternal source that resides deep inside

hello ~ what do you mean by "the planets are the things we have to overcome in order to master these areas of life" ? thanks for your work!
planets in the houses
- sun: shows the center of our life, something that is so important to us that our own ego or lack of confidence is in the way
- moon: where our heart is, where we feel needy and look for comfort, but are too sensitive to find a sense of ease
- mercury: an area that we are very curious about but one that we tend to rationalize too much and overthink
- venus: where we struggle because we are overly fixated on pleasing others and not offending anyone
- mars: where we want to prove our potency but our own sense of competitiveness and blind aggression is in the way
- jupiter: an area where we are confident and optimistic and dont see our shortcomings and the ways in which we lack
- saturn: we want to show our competence but are numbed by insecurity and anxiety
- uranus: where we need to be free. rebelling for the sake of rebelling keeps us from doing what we actually want
- neptune: a deep need for connection that is hindered by a naive or deluded view of of this area
- pluto: where we feel powerless and want to feel power. we hang on to something but need to learn to let go
so, basically, if you have a lot of planets in one house, there’s also a lot of challenges in that house
Malefic Planets
Pluto destroys until there is nothing left, until you have to rebuild everything from the broken foundations upwards, moving you on completely in your journey in this life. It is ego shattering.
Neptune dissolves, taunts and taints, pointing you in misleading directions until you don’t know left from right. It breaks down the barriers between you and everything else, idealises.
Uranus disrupts at the drop of a hat, liberates you from confines, but also rebels for the sake of rebelling, leaving you to wonder what will be left is its chaotic wake.
Saturn creates dissatisfaction, feelings of being unworthy or let down in an area of life, where things progress slowly and often with much hard work and difficulty. Through this, we end up being teachers in this area of life, our talents reaching heights of wisdom with time, we master it.
Mars (Often considered a lesser malefic) represents brute force, recklessness, a pioneering spirit that often runs into conflict in the area containing it. Competitiveness and the ability to self-direct also come from Mars, a healthier aggression.
Domicile, Exalted, Detrimental, and Fall Placements
A domicile placement is the strongest planetary placement. It feels at home and is able to fully play out it’s role.
An exalted placement is the second strongest planetary placement. It feels like a guest in a home. It doesn’t fully play out it’s role, but the effect is positive.
A detrimental placement is a stressful planetary placement. It feels stressed and there is much tension built up. It has a negative or non-existent effect.
A fall placement is the weakest planetary placement. It feels weak, and the planet looses it’s influence.
A peregrine placement is a neutral planetary placement. In this case, these placement’s aspects are more influential.
