Stormbornwitch’s Prosperity Spell Bottle

This spell bottle contains my prosperity powder. This powder is ideal for drawing money, prosperity, and success. Just on its own, the powder could be sprinkled onto a burning candle, dusted around your home or workplace or you could even add some to a hot bath!

Prosperity Powder - Grind & Combine:

  • Eggshells for protection, prosperity and good fortune
  • Sage for helping you make wise decisions
  • Bay Leaves for prosperity and success
  • Basil for wealth and success
  • Peppermint for money, prosperity and abundance

Then the powder is poured into a jar or bottle. Attached to the jar/bottle is a bay leaf with the rune Fehu (wealth and prosperity) painted on it in silver paint.

Using knot magic, the bay leaf is attached to the jar/bottle and then a candle is affixed to the top of the jar so that the candle can be lit every time I need a little money to flow into my life. This little spell bottle works really well. I’ve even been asked to make one for my boss at work.

Domestic Garden Witch: When Eggshells Grow

So maybe you’re a college witch with limited space and money, limited to the one window in your dorm. Or, maybe you’re a witch without extensive backyard space who wants to start up a magical garden. Perhaps you’re a kitchen witch who wants the freshest herbs right at her fingertips.

For many witches, having a garden seems to be a bit of a no-brainer. After all, plants and magic go hand-in-hand. Plus, when thinking of a witch, it’s hard not to think of a cottage in the woods with a little vegetable garden out front. Unfortunately for the majority of us, our cottage in the woods is a tiny flat, and our garden out front is a windowsill with limited space.

This is when it comes time to embrace your craftiness and bring your garden indoors! Not only does it place your garden in a convenient location, it also allows you to freshen the air, recycle what would otherwise harm the earth, and embrace your witchy green thumb!

Eggshells for the Garden Witch

The kitchen witch has eggshells piling up on the counter, dried and ready to be ground up for use in protection powders. The garden witch looks at these shells and thinks, “Oh! Fertilizer!”

But if you’re limited in space and have to keep your garden limited to your windowsill, you may find yourself looking at those eggshells and saying “Oh! New pottery!” Not only is creating an eggshell planter a very green practice, but it’s also creative and makes transplanting much easier if you end up having a larger garden later on!

The Container…

Simple enough, you just need mostly intact eggshells. In the picture above, the eggshells are kept in the carton, but I’ve seen eggshells set up decoratively, such as with this picture:

The core of this post is clearly the eggshells, but you can arrange them in whatever way saves space or is aesthetically pleasing!

Carefully fill the emptied eggshell with potting soil. Make an indent in the soil with your finger, and carefully add your seedling before adding a final layer of soil and watering. If you plan on keeping the plants in the eggshells instead of transplanting, you could also carefully poke holes in the bottom of the eggshells so that your plants don’t get over-watered.

How Can I Witch This?

Eggshells alone are extremely protective, and providing your plants with that energy is beneficial. Around Ostara, use died eggshells! Not only will the shells have protective energy, but you’ll be able to use color correspondences and whatever symbols you used for the rite.

Draw symbols or runes of growth, protection, and strength on the shells in order to encourage your plant’s growth!

Bonus points is if you grow protective herbs in the eggshells!

May your harvests always be fruitful! Blessed Be! )O(

Stormbornwitch’s Cleansing Chalk

This cleansing chalk is designed to cleanse items or a space. It can also be used to draw sigils. To make this cleansing chalk you will need:

  • 5 eggshells
  • 1 tbs dried sage
  • 7 drops of sage essential oil
  • 1 tbs of rock salk

Dry and crush the eggshells with a mortar and pestle. When finely ground into a powder add the sage essential oil. Now add dried sage and ground until a fine powder (if you like you can use pre-ground sage). Once completely ground, add the rock salt and crush into a fine powder.

Add the cleansing powder into a bowl (Measure how much you have first). Now add the same amount of plain white flour to the bowl. Now slowly add water until it becomes a dough-like consistency. Roll the dough into four long pieces of chalk. Now to dry the chalk you can either leave the chalk to air-dry or you can pop them in a fan-forced oven for half an hour.

A Houseplant Spell to Bind Bad Behaviors

I got a request to do a post about draining negative energies and letting someone grow into positivity again. Specifically, it related to helping someone overcome an addiction.  YOU WILL NEED:

A picture or object of the person’s

White ribbon or cord

Smoky quartz

Ground eggshells

Earth to bury it in

Salt or sage (optional, reinforcing)

A living plant (optional, reinforcing; Chrysanthemum would be best but anything alive would work)

So this is a long-term spell, and based heavily on being able to sustain your intent. It’s a binding – so be aware of what you’re doing to another person if you’re performing it on another person. You’re compromising their free will. Take responsibility for that, understand what that means before you do it.

It’s going to take a little intuition on people’s parts as far as incantations go, because I’m not in the “spells need words” mindset right now. A simple “I bind you from x” will work, but get fancy if you’re feeling it. Repetition is also a good thing for reinforcing intent.

As far as the “earth to bury it in” goes, there are a couple different things that you can do. The ideal thing is to bury this spell deep in a field that’s going to be sprouting this spring, but that’s not practical for pretty much anyone except my middle-of-nowhere ass, so. The other thing that you can do is a pot spell, and that’s where the Chrysanthemum or other plant comes in. You can put this spell at the bottom of a pot, fill it in with soil, plant the plant on top, and then care for the plant on top. This is both more convenient and better for regularly reinforcing intent.

PROCEDURE:

Take the picture or object of the person’s. Wrap it in white cord, repeating your binding words as you do. As you’re wrapping the object, bind the smoky quartz to it with the cord. This is going to drain off the negativity and lock it away. If you want to slip sage or salt into the wrap, that’s also a good idea – but be careful with how much salt you put in there, because salt is the death of plants. Sage leaves are better for this. They don’t have to be white sage, either, garden or kitchen varieties will work just as well.

When you’ve got it all wrapped, bury it in the hole/pot. Put it deep, make sure it’s in the dark, where the earth can drain and cleanse it. You want it to be work to dig up again. Bury it in a layer of soil, followed by a layer of eggshells, then soil, eggshells, soil, eggshells, until yo’ve got it throughly covered. The eggshells are going to protect the person, bring new fertility into their life, and also nourish the plants atop the spell.

Once that’s finished, plant the Chrysanthemum/other plant on top. If you’re doing the spell in a pot, care for this plant. Repeat the binding on it, tell it what you want for the person as they move forward. The longer you keep the intent up, the better it works.

Selective Spirit Door-Bar

As far as I can tell there are two types of spirit workers – those who are always available and those who set time aside. I value myself of being the latter. I like my place and I like it free of disturbances, as such I have always been very thorough when setting my perimeters. I don’t just bar the main doors, I would bar every doorway – just in case should someone break through one, there would still be containment so that I could manage the issue without worry. While this is a great defensive, I find that communicating with spirits in my home can be somewhat difficult – even when given permission to enter. Given my recent move, I elected to try a new strategy – which so far has paid off quite well so far. That is a selectively permeable boundary, through which those who share my blood/spirit (ancestors) or given my blessing may pass. Now, you can rest assured that my bedroom will still be spelled up like Fort Knox, but at least I’m becoming a little more hospitable, right?

I digress.

To Perform the Ritual, gather:

  • Brick Dust
  • Salt – a half/half blend of black and white
  • White Chalk – and/or Cascarilla
  • Sulphur
  • Vinegar
  • Saliva
  • Blood
Optional: to add a little more fire to those who might try to pass the boundary – add in a blend of used coffee grounds, chile powder, black pepper, iron oxide and dark rum (pine tar is a great addition, too, but it’s hard to find)

Don’t waste your time on any ceremonious nonsense for this one, just combine your dry ingredients first and then the wet and toss/churn/shake your concoction aptly. Your ratio and consistency is dependent on your preferences, but I like more of a dry paste. It really depends on how fine your brick dust is – for chunkier, hand-broken bricks, you’re not going to have a paste one way or another and that’s completely fine, just dampen your ingredients. For a very fine dust, you want to add a bit more to ensure your powder will hold once dry: a bit more vinegar can remedy an overly dry mix.

Take your paste and run it along the base of each entrance to your home. After each has been door has been dressed, read the following incantation as you “close” the door:

Mind these words – for they bear weight and consequence: Those of blood and spirit blessed – yet kinsman all the same, For it is they whose lines I tie, And they who govern fate; But to the wayfarer and the miscreant, No tiding favor found, These walls be charmed These doors be crossed The ill might find no solace; By witch’s blood – By witch’s word – By witch’s will – ‘Tis I who mark the Gates

To close the door, place both index fingers together at the middle of the frame overhead. As you read, trace your fingers along to the corners, down their respective sides, then closing them together at the base of the door. I like to then walk through the door and “cross” it from inside. That’s been the hardest habit to break, as every time I walk through the door, I was used to ‘X’ing it immediately.

Good luck and good barring!

Magical Chalks

Magical chalks are amazing tools. You can use them to write sigils, glyphs, or to add some oomph to a circle.

Basic chalk recipe:

Mix up some plaster of paris and water together until you get a stiff paste. Mould it into a cylinder shape and let dry up to 24 hours. If you feel like adding color to your intenet, you can add food coloring to yhe water, or mix the plaster of paris with acrylic paint.

Cascarilla chalk:

Mix one tablespoon of flour, a tablespoon of water and 6 ground eggshells together. Let dry up to 24 hours. You may color this in the same way as you did for the basic chalk.

Cascarilla chalk is used for protection, or to draw the witch’s round.

Banishing chalk:

For this one, I don’t reccomend combining it to the cascarilla chalk. I would go with the plaster method. In a mortar and pestle, combine black pepper, cayenne powder, cinnamon, sea salt, sulfur, allspice, basil, black salt, cigarette ash, garlic powder and chilli flakes. Grind it into a fine powder, the consistency of plaster powder. Combine the powdered ingredients with the plaster, and wet using vinegar instead of water.

Use to draw banishing glyphs, or sigils to repell entities or certain people. Also used to draw boundaries on the go.

Summoning chalk:

Grind dandelion, sweetgrass, thistle, and tobaccco into a fine powder, mix into your plaster or cascarilla mix. Add water and mould into a stick.

Use this chalk to draw the summoning seals of spirits, or to draw unto something you would like to attract spirits with.

Feel free to add to this post! I will be adding ontot it once I have more recipes!

A Spell to Banish and Protect: “Restraining Order Bottle”

Supplies:

o   An airtight jar or bottle.

o   Black or red craft paint and a small paintbrush OR a black or red sharpie marker.

o   Simple taglock representing the person or thing that you want to banish.  Something that includes DNA – such as hair – is very powerful, but a slip of paper with the name that you know the target as can serve just as well also!

o   A few things (or representations of some of the things) that your target hates (foods, scents, colors, images, written examples of what they hate, etc). If you can, add something that you know they are allergic to.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Suggested Ingredients:
o   A few drops of my Banishing Potion
o   Basil
o   Bay Leaves (crushed or whole)
o   Black Salt
o   Black and/or Red Crystals
o   Black and/or Red Pepper
o   Black and/or Red Wax Chips
o   Cayenne Pepper
o   Cactus Spines
o   Crumbled Dragon’s Blood Incense
o   Dead Spiders (added as a warning to your target)
o   Eggshells (crushed into a powder)
o   Juniper Berries
o   Pumice
o   Red Pepper (crushed or in flakes)
o   Rosemary
o   St. John’s Wort
o   Tobacco
o   Willow Branches
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Spell Steps:

Step 1: If you will be using the Banishing Potion and/or the Keep Away Stone, make those in advance.

Step 2:  Prepare for your spell.  Make sure that you have your supplies and ingredients on hand; meditate; cleanse yourself and your area; make sure that you are grounded, centered, and protected; take any of the steps that you usually would when engaging in magick work.

Step 3: Take your dry ingredients and mix then together. As you add each ingredient to the mixture, focus on its banishing abilities; imagine it radiating your desire for this person to leave you alone.

Step 4: Take your bottle or jar and fill it about halfway with your mixture. Shake the bottle a bit to help the mixture settle.

Step 5: Add in your taglock, and whatever items that you are using to represent things that your target hates.  If you are using a Keep Away Stone, add that in now as well.

Step 6:  Add in the rest of your ingredients, and finish off with a few drops of the Banishing Potion if you are using it.

Step 7:  Taking your marker or paint, add a copy of your ‘restraining order’ to the outside of the bottle.  Be sure to include your target’s name, as well as the distance that you want between you and your target.

Step 8:  Seal your bottle completely and give it a few shakes, thinking about how much you want your target to stay away.

Step 9:  End the spell and ground yourself.

Step 10:  Put the bottle somewhere safe and preferably dark; let it do most of its work in the shadows.  If you feel that your Restraining Order is about to be infringed on or broken, grab your brightest light (flashlight app, actual flashlight, mirror reflecting the sun – whatever you have on hand, seriously) and shine it directly at the bottle. Take the bottle and shake it a few times, repeating the same words that you used when you first created your bottle <3

Cascarilla Powder

- Cascarilla is powdered eggshell. The shells are so finely ground that it feels as soft as baby powder. Any Botanica or store that caters to New Age and Magick ritual will have Cascarilla. You will most normally see it packed into a ketchup cup. When removed from the cup, it maintains its form and can be used as one would use a soft piece of chalk. Or, if mixed with water, you will find that the soft chalk dissolves easily. For most of the purposes, it is used as a piece of chalk, so the shells sold in stores are convenient. - Cascarilla repels negative energy, and the vibration of negative energy. It is such a potent cleansing and protecting agent, that it can be used in any number of ways to guard from evil, malicious magic, and disease. It has many uses. Here are the most common:

  1. Add some to your bath water for a purification bath or sprinkle in the wash bucket for scrubbing the floor to disperse negativity.
  2. As a piece of chalk to draw sigils and circles of protection for magickal rituals and spellwork.
  3. Add a bit of water and use it to paint symbols on your skin or use it dry to dust your body for all over protection.
  4. This is great to have if you are going to meditate, astral project, or perform visualizations. You can use it as a powder and dust yourself with it or you can use it as a chalk and make the sign of the cross on different areas of your body (back of neck, forehead, temples, hands, chest, and bottom of feet).
  5. If you have psychic abilities, you can dust yourself or make the sign of the cross as previously mentioned, and it protects you from psychic attack and energy vampires. It also keeps away negative spirits.
  6. Cascarilla also keeps away non-corporeal beings (spirits, ghosts, demons, etc). If you feel like your home may be haunted, this would be a good repellent (after a thorough house cleansing!!). Be warned, if you have spirits around that you like talking to, you may find it more difficult to communicate with them! Cascarilla does not discriminate between good and evil – it just provides a barrier between the physical and spiritual world.
  7. House protection: use as a piece of chalk. Going around the house clockwise, etch the sign of the cross on either side of the door, above the door, and on the threshold. When doing the windows – do above, below, and both sides of the window. Do this with all doors and all windows of the home.
  8. House protection - perimeter of house. Same as above, just on the outside of the house. You can wash the windows and doors with water infused with the powder, sprinkle some around the house, or draw sigils like above.

~Cascarilla Chalk~

-Materials-

  • 6 eggshells
  • 1 tsp very hot tap water
  • 1 tsp flour
  • A clean rock
  • A sheet of paper
  • Spoon
  • Cup
  • Paper towel
  • Food coloring (optional)

-Instructions-

  1. Wash the eggshells well, so they do not have any egg left in them. Let them dry for an hour. The shells must be completely dry or the chalk will fall apart.
  2. Place a sheet of paper on a hard surface. Grind the shells on the paper with a rock. Make sure the rock is clean so you don’t get dirt ground in with the eggshells. (You can grind them in a coffee grinder or food processor too).
  3. Continue grinding the eggshells until you have a fine powder. Make sure you have enough powder to fill a large spoon, which is enough for one stick of chalk.
  4. When you have enough of the fine powder to make a stick of chalk, sift or pick up little bits of eggshells that are not ground up and throw them away. Leaving in little bits of eggshells may cause your chalk to break up.
  5. Put the teaspoon of flour and the teaspoon of hot water into a cup. Stir together to make a paste.
  6. Add the spoonful of eggshell powder into the paste and mix well. It may help to mash it with the back of the spoon.
  7. Add a few drops of food coloring if you want colored chalk. Too many drops will make the paste too wet.
  8. On a clean, dry surface roll the mixture into a stick. Wrap the stick up in a strip of paper towel and set aside to dry. Drying takes about three days.
  9. Once dry, peel the paper off one end and your chalk is ready to use!

Little-Witchh’s Protection and Return to Sender Jar

The use of this type of jar is to keep yourself protected from negative energy and any harmful intent sent to you (hexes, curses, manipulative spells, etc) and send it back to where it came from. Get a jar that you like, any size it could be small, medium or super big the one I have is a pretty good size, about the size of a 2 cup measuring cup.

Ingredients

Ground eggshells Clove Your own hair Pepper (I used black pepper) Garlic (powder, dried chopped garlic or fresh) Cumin Dill Fennel Ginger Paprika Parsley Basil Thyme Peppercorn Small mirror or mirror shards Four pins Vinegar Storm water As many black and white candles as you need to seal your jar

Draw a protection sigil on the bottom of the lid, you can also draw protection sigils, deflection sigils, evil eye protectors, etc on the outside of the jar as well.

You can add anything else you want, everything I had was stuff I had immediately around the house so this is great for beginners or in the closet witches or witches who are pretty broke like me.

Remember while you’re making your jar, grinding your ingredients and adding them all together focus on your intent and imagine sending any and all negative energy back to whoever it was sent from.

Light your candles and as they’re melting add all your ingredients into the jar, once you have everything in the jar close the lid tight. Blow out your candles and as your pour the wax onto the jar to seal it, say the following:

Negative energy and ill will,

Return to sender for more than their fill,

Bring me protection,

And send back evil through deflection,

So let me be free,

As I will it, so mote it be

After your jar is sealed you can either bury it on your property or keep it by you in your room and/or sacred space. I personally like mine in my room because I don’t know how much longer I will be living where I am and I’d rather have it near me.

(Remember the best time to do this would be during a waxing moon!)
