6th house vs the 10th house? 🤔
The 6th and 10th House have many differences but career/work is their similarity and can easily get confusing. The 6th House is about your everyday life, your “day job” and how you get along with coworkers whereas the 10th is about your public life, your ambition, but also can indicate networking. The 6th House might indicate what type of jobs you easily fall into and the 10th your solid career. But it really isn’t strange to have a career that is a combination of both or lean towards one or the other.
For example let’s say someone has Taurus in the 6th and Virgo in the 10th. Taurus in the 6th is known for finances or creative work while Virgo in the 10th is known more for service, editing, writing, health/medicine, and possibly teaching. Someone with this combo could start off in finance to one day eventually become a finance adviser or professor, to illustrate how the houses work together. Or someone with this combo might work in the arts but still approach their career with a desire to help others or to perfect their skill because of Virgo in the 10th.
Taurus in the 6th can find themselves around dependable and charming co-workers or at least prefers co-workers who are like this while Virgo in the 10th indicates someone who networks based of off pure skill, helpfulness, and humility.
The 6th and 10th can be simplified as 6th = “day job” and 10th = “career”. But we shouldn’t simplify astrology unless you are very much a beginner. If you are interested in what your natal chart has to say about career then try to blend together the meanings of the 6th and 10th. The 2nd House can also gives ideas as to how you might obtain wealth or at least approach finances. The 8th can give insight into inheritances or other’s/maybe communal money and resources.

6th house: health, service, work, habits, work environment, altruism, teamwork, co-workers, pets, efficiency, routine, recognition or silently/anonymously give, humility, charity.
10th house: ambition, motivation, career, outer environment, reputation, public life, social status, parents, authority, trade, profession, recognition, government, laws, general history (not to be confused with family history), structure, networking, success, standing out or rising above the collective.
