The human body, and everything in existence, is energy. While we all have the same energy fields geometrically, we are on different frequencies as humans and this causes differences the way we come off.
Your aura is the electromagnetic field of energy surrounding you that is specific to what you’re feeling, thinking, doing, or what chakras you are over- or under-using. The aura stretches through and beyond the seven-chakra system, meaning that it extends above the head and below the feet into the ground in the shape of an egg. (This auric field is not to be confused with the star tetrahedron field that surrounds us, the mer-ka-ba)
Auras come in several different colors, but the main system of colors are red, orange, yellow, pink, blue, and purple, since these are the colors of the seven-chakra system. There are also other colors, including black, green, and several variations of the main seven.
The aura contains seven bodies:
1. Etheric Body
Closest energy body to the physical body. It is usually seen as bluish-gray; this white-blue light is the prana or the life-force energy of your body. This is the body that is seen through Kirlian photography (we’ll come back to this later). The etheric body extends one quarter to two inches beyond the physical body (from the skin) and pulsates at about 15-20 cycles per minute. It can be seen around the entire body but is mostly seen around your hands, feet, your head, and a little on your shoulders. When seen around the hands, it is 3-4 inches away.
2. Emotional Body
While the etheric body duplicates the physical body, the emotional body is more fluid. This is expected, since fluidity is the nature of our emotions. Your emotions put out electromagnetic fields. This body is associated with our feelings and changes as your feelings do (you can practice seeing these changes yourself, but we’ll talk about that later.) This body is about one to three inches from the physical body and is far more colorful than the etheric body.
3. Mental Body
The mental body is associated with our thoughts and mental expressions. Just like emotions, your thoughts emit electromagnetic fields from your brain. It extends three to eight inches from the body, and generally has a yellow light, which radiates around the head and shoulders, and extends to the body below. The mental body is similar to the emotional body in colors sometimes, because if there is an emotion associated with your thought, certain colors of the emotional body will show. Otherwise, the yellow deepens/intensifies if you are deep in thought.
4. Astral Body (astral plane - bridge)
This is called the bridge to the astral plane, because this body is associated with energies that are not of the third-dimensional frequency. It extends six inches or one foot from the body. It has the colors of the rainbow like the emotional body, along with a pink/rose hue that is mostly seen if the personal is emotional + loving. The astral plane is also sometimes called the emotional plane, which is why when we are in the astral, our emotions are greatly enhanced either way.
5. Etheric Template Body (physical aspect)
The name of this body suggests that it is the template for the etheric body, which is the first body we mentioned. This means that the etheric template body is the body formed before the etheric body. It exists in a higher dimension but also extends one and one half to two feet from the body. It has a dark blue hue, and is usually only seen by advanced healers or people with lots of practice in healing/clairvoyance.
6. Celestial Body (emotional aspect)
When we feel pure love, and when we feel true interconnectedness, we are tapping into the frequencies of the celestial body. This celestial body is the spiritual-emotional plane, which is kind of like the emotional body, but different in that the emotions felt here are more related to euphoria, bliss, love, and ecstasy. The colors of this body are usually pastel and have a soft glow.
7. Ketheric/Casual Body (mental aspect)
As the celestial body was the emotional aspect of the spiritual plane, the ketheric body is the mental aspect of the physical plane. It contains all six other bodies within it and extends up to three and a half feet from the body. It vibrates at a very high speed and is made of a gold grid type structure, which is very durable. Once you raise your consciousness to the level of this body, you are aware of your oneness with Being or Source. This body also contains the main Kundalini force that runs up and down the body (which we will talk about later).
Now, even if you don’t “believe” in the bodies I listed above, I can tell you how to actually see your etheric body.
This list is based off of resources I have found as well as my personal experiences.
As with all correspondences, this is a place to start from, not the end-all be-all of color meanings.
This list generally assumes that brighter colors are healthier and more positive, while duller colors are negative and less positive. Use your intuition to determine the true role a color plays.
OVERLAYS If one color is covering another, this can indicate outer appearance, how others perceive them, or a blockage that is preventing the inner color from shining.
COMBINATIONS If one color is mixed with another in stripes, lines, or spots, the person presents both qualities in equal or similar measure.
MIXING If two or more colors appear to blend together, this can indicate strong balance and intermingling of personal energies.
SOLID If a person primarily presents only one color with no overlays, they are honestly projecting their inner energies.
BRIGHT RED A healthy ego. Strong passion. Highly grounded. A survivalist’s spirit, highly realistic. Can indicate a powerful, competitive, energetic person. Indicates confidence. Strong personal power. Related to warriors, battle, and love. Someone who is used to being noticed.

I’m not going to explain what aura is, let’s just skip to the main part, how you can see it?
1. How to see other people’s aura. Blur your vision on purpose.
(If you don’t know how, here is a little tip: Focus on something far away from you. Like a tree, or a car, let’s say, across the street. While you’re looking at the thing you chose, focus your mind on what is between you and that thing. The blurry part of your vision. The more you try and practice, the better you’ll get.)
Once your vision is blurry, go sit in the park or somewhere where you can see people walking around. Sit on a bench, blur your vision and focus your mind people walking around. Do not look directly at them. Just accept their presence and look at the thing far away. After some time you’ll see something that looks like a beam of light right above people’s heads. This is the step n.1. Remember the more you practice, the more you’ll see. After some time, you can start to see whole auras around their bodies. Some will be wide, some will have more layers, some will have colors and spikes or smooth edge and so on.
2. How to see your own aura. Wait for the night. Sit alone in a room, let just the street light slightly enter the space you’re in. Hold your hand in front on you, make sure the wall (or something else) behind your hand is dark colored or preferably, black. Blur your vision focusing on your hand. Do not look directly at your hand. After some time, you’ll be able to see something that looks like waves of warmness around your hand. It looks like warm air rising from a tea pot. You may see colors, you may see shape and edges.
Remember, practice makes perfect. Don’t beat yourself up because you won’t be able to see it right away. It takes time.
Enjoy.
This is a very simple, beginner method, but with enough practice things will get clearer, and you can see more at once.
1. Facing a white or black wall in good lighting, put you arm straight out in front of you with your palm facing the wall.
2. Spread your fingers, and look between them at the spaces. Keep your eyes relaxed and generally unfocused.
3. You should see an energy field around your fingers developing in your peripheral vision. It usually starts out clear, and with practice you see colour.
4. It may help to move your hand slightly. I find if I do this that the aura leaves a ‘trace’ for a few seconds, allowing me to see it clearly. Sending energy out of your hand or visualizing it becoming stronger also helps.
5. Keep practicing. In time you can see different layers and colours, on yourself as well as other people, coming from the entire body.

Your aura is the energy field that surrounds you. It collects negative energy each day and if you do readings of any kind (like me) and you don’t cleanse your Aura there will be consequences. Keeping your aura clear and bright is very important and here’s how to do it:
Cleansing Aura
You can cleanse your aura in few, simple steps.

How to practice seeing auras
The aura is the energy field surrounding all living creatures. This is a method to get better at this magical ability. Remember that with any skill it takes practice.
The Mirror 1. Sit in front of a mirror. Place a small lamp, with a white shade, on a table to the left or right of the mirror. Be sure the light does not reflect in the mirror or is uncomfortable to your eyes. 2.Begin by looking at your shoulder and neck area in the mirror. Let your eyes go out of focus, as if you were looking beyond your body’s reflection. 3After some practice you should begin to see a white glow or outline, about 1 -2 inches wide, around the shoulder and neck( your inner-aura.)
Perceive colors -after the first step is successfully done begin this exercise. 1. Practice seeing the white inner aura once again, then try to move your focus to the outside line of the white sheen. 2.After a while you will begin to see the white outline grow wider. there should be a slight variation in the color. 3.As you watch the aura form, you will be able to see slight color emerge around the edges of the white aura. -The colors might be faint and cloudy at first, but keep practicing. This is the beginning layer of the middle of the aura. —after a while you will be able to see the entire aura. -all living creatures have auras —don’t strain your eyes
The only thing I’d like to fix about this post is that it’s not a magical ability. It’s frequencies. It’s quantum physics. It’s dimensions. It’s SCIENCE.
I'm extremely new to the wicca world and I would like to know is there any way to strengthen your ability to feel energies? I don't think I feel energies unless its like strong or dark and foreboding.

Everyone has an aura. Through meditation, and using magical willpower (everyone has magical willpower), we can alter our auras. You can add calming colors to your aura to make yourself feel calm. Or, you can add images that make you feel different. People can sense your aura, so if you put intimidating additions to your aura it will affect how others treat you.
In my experience, auras are very much a ‘feeling’ thing. Your aura makes you feel one way, and your aura makes people feel something about you. A person’s aura can be hardened to stop things from coming through, but this is a different concept than shielding.
