Pisces Venus, Sagittarius Venus, Venus in the 12th, Venus in the 9th, Neptune in the 7th, Jupiter in the 7th, Neptune-Venus aspects, Jupiter-Venus aspects

Glitter eyes and daydream sighs, the indvidual imagines a partner who personifies a divine aura and thus sees the beauty in everyone upon first encounters, subconsciously looking for an angel. Has awfully low and impossibly high expectations simultaneously; small gestures are interpreted as something grander and one sets themselves up for disappointments when realizing their love interests are only human with mundane affections. Usually, these types draw to optimists, and charitable persons of a humble and wise nature. Love is almost regarded as religion; one “believes” and “has faith” in Love

Aquarius Venus, Aquarius moon, Uranus in the 7th, Venus-Uranus aspects, Moon-Uranus aspects

Romance begins with a jolt of interest, but the feeling is brief and one is soon looking for a different experience to set off the original flicker of stimulation. These types are the epitome of contradiction when it comes to love, as they orbit around partners and the idea of relationships, yet seek freedom, space and independence from them. The indvidual takes a mind-centered approach to relationships, so often seeks partners they can learn from, who are socially aware and who don’t follow a conventional or restrictive perspective of relationship

Aries Venus, Scorpio Venus, Scorpio moon, Venus in the 8th, Mars-Venus aspects, Pluto in the 5th, Mars in the 5th

May view love antagonistically due to a fear of being subdued within a relationship. During other times, the indvidual can take an impulsive “all or nothing” approach to relationships. The romantic experience must be a rush of intense physical and emotional attraction that sparks the heart into a frenzy of flutters and waves of excitement that run deep and linger. These types tend to seek out partners of a passionate, magnetic and equally immersive but empowering nature. Love is then not perceived as their greatest weakness, but their greatest strength

Capricorn Venus, Capricorn moon, Saturn-Venus aspects, Venus in the 10th, Saturn in the 5th, Saturn in the 7th, Moon-Saturn aspects

Desires a kind of union that ‘ages’ beautifully, a traditional “grow old with me” kind of relationship, yet one is too fearful of the responsibility that comes along with love. Affections seem cold and forced, as there is a fear of rejection and abandonment that causes one to sever potential binds before they begin to form and require expectations to live up to. During other times, it is not uncertainty holding one back, but a test of selfishness that needs to be overcome. Seeks a kind of person that is dignified, classy, publicly graceful and is willing to be mutual mentors; someone to learn from, grow with, and share their dreams with

Saturn & Uranus Brotherhood

Traditionally, Capricorn & Aquarius were both ruled by Saturn. Later on, once the outer planets were discovered, Aquarius earned its own ruler, Uranus; Pisces and Scorpio also became ruled by additional planets, but the original rulers were associated with these three signs for a reason. Those connections didn’t suddenly disappear after Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto were astrologically acknowledged. Aquarius is still closely tied to Saturn both archetypically & energetically, and since Saturn & Uranus are so different at face value, the “brotherhood” between them is very revealing of deeper meanings.

Saturn is limitation, pain, trials, karma, an endless nightmare of emotional and psychological toil that will teach you and make you worthy; Uranus is the breaking of rules, the crumbling of structures, rebellion against confinement, a vision of boundless emotional and psychological liberation.

Limitation comes before liberation. Saturn is the lifelong explanation, while Uranus is the eureka, a euphoric realization after grueling mental labor. Saturn is the structure, feeling like the four walls of a cell or cage; Uranus is an unfathomable hundredth dimension, making four walls seem like a cattle pasture, not fully enclosed. If we are broken by Saturn, madness follows; but if we learn from Saturn & gain his wisdom, unique creative genius follows. The point is, these planets and their concepts do not exist separately.  Saturn is the jug (solid, hard, heavy) and Uranus is the water (creativity, spirituality, the lifeblood of innovation) which Aquarius, the water-bearer, pours from it.  Saturn came first so it is the structure of Aquarius’ energy, even though Uranus is the purpose, the progress which extends upward from the foundation.

This represents an important development most of us need to make in our own lives, particularly if Aquarius, Saturn, or Uranus are strong in our natal charts. Whether or not Saturn contacts Uranus, they usually present a shared monumental challenge for us to overcome & grow through. Saturn always comes first – we encounter the trial, the lesson, the wound. There is no way around the barrier, we simply have to climb for what can turn out to be our whole lives, trying to reach the top to see what we are meant to be seeing on the other side. Uranus is on the other side. So in the natal chart, Uranus often represents where we must learn to break free rather than where we are already liberated. It’s something that has to be earned and unlocked before it can bear its fruit. We generally have to work & search for Uranus, to make room for it, because we will feel limited, confined, exhausted, terribly punished by having to shrink our originality or expansion in the realm of what Uranus touches until we learn Saturn’s lesson. Saturn’s hardships are trying to break the geode Uranus is trapped within so it can shine. Freedom always has to be fought for; so just as Saturn & Capricorn come before Uranus & Aquarius, the pain of imprisonment will come before the pleasure of prison break.

Uranus: Your Need to be Freed

Uranus is the planet of logic, freedom, and revolution. Uranus’ presence in a house shows your need to be free in, or free from, that area of your life. It may also indicate something you are apathetic towards.

First House

You want to be free, period. You don’t care about how you come across to other people. You may be apathetic to your appearance and personal presentation- wear pajamas to class, dress casual at fancy parties, etc.

Second House

You want to be free from material possessions. You are apathetic to money and finances, and may spend erratically. Even if your financial situation is less than ideal, you just… Can’t bring yourself to care.

Third House

You need freedom in how you write and communicate. You may not have done well in your early school years. Your handwriting might be sloppy, your words may be jumbled and confusing or flat out offensive. You just never actually cared about grades, whether you did well or terribly.

Fourth House

You want to be free from your family and childhood. You want to get away from your parents, or specifically your mother. You may not care for starting a family of your own, and prefer friends over any other types of relationships.

Fifth House

You need to be free in your self-expression, which includes sexual expression. If you are interested in creating art, you need to do it on your own terms. Alternately, you may be apathetic to your own creativity and creative expression in general.

Sixth House

You want freedom from routine. You might hate your job, or doing chores, with an unholy fervor. You don’t care about bathing regularly or brushing your teeth- you may even crave freedom from your own body, which feels like a fleshy prison.

Seventh House

You need freedom in your close relationships and from your enemies. You may also need freedom within your marriage, or from the institution and expectation of marriage. Because you want to be free from lovers and enemies alike, this is yet another position that favors friendship over other types of relationships.

Eighth House

You either need freedom in how you express your sexuality, or freedom from sex. You may be apathetic to death, sex, and other taboo matters. You may see death as a release, a means to experience true freedom, rather than something to be feared.

Ninth House

You need the freedom to travel, but you might be apathetic to new places, feeling like you’ve already seen the world and there’s nothing left to explore. You need freedom in what you think and how you learn. You may be apathetic to higher education, and see it as a prison for the mind more than anything else.

Tenth House

You find it hard to care about your career or reputation. You may want freedom from the notion of a “life purpose” or “calling.” You want freedom from leaders and authority figures.

Eleventh House

You are apathetic to your circle of friends. You might see them as people to spend time with when you’re bored, but feel no deep emotional connection. You might also be apathetic to new technologies and trends. Things like community service and volunteer work may seem like a total waste of time to you.

Twelfth House

You are apathetic to the mystical and subconscious. You may want utter freedom in your dreams, or freedom from dreams altogether, preferring a dreamless sleep. You may hate sleeping, or want the freedom to sleep as much as possible.

Malefic Planets

Pluto destroys until there is nothing left, until you have to rebuild everything from the broken foundations upwards, moving you on completely in your journey in this life. It is ego shattering.

Neptune dissolves, taunts and taints, pointing you in misleading directions until you don’t know left from right. It breaks down the barriers between you and everything else, idealises.

Uranus disrupts at the drop of a hat, liberates you from confines, but also rebels for the sake of rebelling, leaving you to wonder what will be left is its chaotic wake.

Saturn creates dissatisfaction, feelings of being unworthy or let down in an area of life, where things progress slowly and often with much hard work and difficulty. Through this, we end up being teachers in this area of life, our talents reaching heights of wisdom with time, we master it.

Mars (Often considered a lesser malefic) represents brute force, recklessness, a pioneering spirit that often runs into conflict in the area containing it. Competitiveness and the ability to self-direct also come from Mars, a healthier aggression.

The Uranian principle challenges anything and everything that is Saturnian; that which is conventional, traditional, and orthodox. The planet always opposes authority and age. It challenges anything that has become thwarted, repressed, oppressed, or rigid. When Uranus touches a planet in a chart it urges those planetary principles to express themselves in the most contrary or deviant kind of way. Because society tends to be Saturnian, ‘deviant’ is often interpreted as something dirty, but the word merely means to take an alternative path. Certainly the Uranian principle will always wish to go by a different route. Uranus symbolizes the urge for rebellion. When it touches a planet in the chart it often creates a situation where the individual wants to rebel against expressing what that planet normally represents, or has represented in the past. And thus, in challenging the status quo, the Uranian person may alienate themselves from the rest of society, but they will act as the vehicle through which the inevitable change of ideas will occur. Thus, for example, individuals who have Uranus contacting the Moon may challenge the traditional role of mother. Uranus with Venus or Mars may describe those who challenge the traditional boy-meets-girl-equals-marriage kind of life scenario. Given that ‘un’ usually reverses the meaning of a word, Uranian keywords are often those that start with this prefix: unconventional, unusual, unlikely, unorthodox, unemotional.

Generational Planets’ Roles In The Natal Chart

The sun & personal planets are the conscious mind. Jupiter & Uranus are the elevated conscious mind. The moon & Saturn are the subconscious mind. Pluto is the unconscious mind. Neptune is partially all four.

Uranus represents the part of the native’s psyche that belongs to & is confined by no molds, no boundaries, no rules. It is Camus’ Absurd Man. It isn’t simply a member of society, it is society. It’s limitlessness is superhuman, and its groundbreaking singularity ruins conformity & unity itself.

Neptune represents the part of the native’s psyche that belongs to the universe. It’s stardust, dark matter; untouchable, and entirely immortal as a result. It’s the soul, settling at the bottom of the vessel that is you and only bubbling to the surface in the form of confusion & dreams. It’s on every level.

Pluto represents the part of the native’s psyche that belongs to nothing but itself. It’s the moment Lucifer betrayed his Maker, bottled in a single shadow; it’s the divine bloodshed that followed, and the underworld born of the overworld’s ashes. It exists on a raw vibration that you don’t understand, yet it is the source of everything that is catastrophic about you.

These planets are so godlike that we can’t even recognize them in our insignificant selves; we can’t see them in essence because we’re too small. We see them in their reflections, as they trickle down through the clouds we reside beneath. They define abstract eras, they control all tragedies & all miracles, and we are almost mere side effects in their stories.

”Often Uranus in the 4th house has carried feelings of not belonging, and home may feel more like an alien environment. Often feeling like outsiders, strangers and outcasts from their place of origin. The type is seen to rebel against tradition, social norms, and the expectations of the parents. A powerful sense of being uprooted, and there may have been some disruption in the early part of life, and this could be one that has created much anxiety. The person may experience plenty of upheaval on the domestic scene, chaos in the family home, and sometimes these things are not necessarily chosen, but something outside conspires and these events happen to the individual, upsetting the home itself. The person needs to possess an image of being independent, and different at home, and Uranus placed in this position never gets in ruts or stuck in routine. Uranus here has been linked with the wanderer, the emigrant, one who wants to break-free from their place of origin. It tends to shatter foundations, and there is also a sense of liberality in this sphere they are not dominated by norms and are free to set-up home, however the person chooses. The person may not be able to choose the disrupting circumstances that sway the boat of their inner-emotional anchoring and ability to feel at home in the normal sense. Still, there is an open door policy at home, one that welcomes all types, because the individual is not the clannish type, and one doesn’t need a birth right to determine where they belong.”

Uranus kind of flashes like a glitch in the matrix; messages of the divine through music and television, ultra unusual and poignant ‘coincidence’, physical electrical currents, white hazes of spirits appearing in photographs, the psychic receptivity of pets, esoteric knowledge through internet, telepathy. Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury and these two planets kind of work like impulses through each other. Uranus/Aquarius sparks the intuition/ingenuity which ride the wings of Mercury to comprise into thought. These are tangles of intellectual galaxies which circulate in the auric field ruled by Uranus. The association with the brain relates to epilepsy, psychological trauma, ingenuity, and nervous system disorders.

☌ Conjunctions ☌

HOW-TO: In your birth chart, look at which planets are VERY close together. I like to consider conjunctions “strong” when the planets are 0-4 degrees apart.  Anything wider than that is a weak aspect.  In the linked example, the Sun and Mars are strongly conjunct.

☉ Sun - Moon: I am an open book when it comes to how I’m feeling. Sun - Mercury: My thoughts and ideas are laid out for everyone to see. Sun - Venus: I am easily likable because of my charm. Sun - Mars: I am great at taking charge and have plenty of energy and drive. Sun - Jupiter: My ego may be inflated and I appear larger than life. Sun - Saturn: I am careful and cautious with how I come across to others. Sun - Uranus:  I want to express myself in a unique and unusual way. Sun - Neptune:  There is a hazy, lack of clarity about the way I express myself. Sun - Pluto: I will always want to be in control of myself and my surroundings.

☽ Moon - Mercury: It’s easy for my head and heart to agree on things. Moon - Venus: My sensitivity is one of my attractive qualities. Moon - Mars: Irritability and moodiness are obstacles I must overcome. Moon - Jupiter: I am a naturally happy, optimistic person. Moon - Saturn: I always keep my emotions under control.  Moon - Uranus: I am restless and dislike routine. Moon - Neptune: Like a sponge, I feel whatever the people around me feel. Moon - Pluto: Intuition and suspicion reign strong within me.

☿ Mercury - Venus: I tend to say what I know you want to hear. Mercury - Mars:  I am fluent in sarcasm. Mercury - Jupiter: My thoughts represent my beliefs and personal philosophies. Mercury - Saturn: My thoughts are structured and based on traditional thinking. Mercury - Uranus: I get my genius ideas quickly and suddenly, out of nowhere. Mercury - Neptune: It’s okay to dress up the truth to make it easier to bear. Mercury - Pluto: I have a talent for reading others and discovering the truth.

♀ Venus - Mars: If something is attractive to me, I go straight for it. Venus - Jupiter: I love freely and generously. Venus - Saturn: I am looking for a reliable type of love that lasts forever.  Venus - Uranus: People who stand out are attractive to me. Venus - Neptune: I express my love with compassion and self-sacrifice. Venus - Pluto: My self-possession is what draws others to me.

♂ Mars - Jupiter: Grandly optimistic ideas fuel me to take action. Mars - Saturn: I have a patient, steady drive that allows me to persevere.  Mars - Uranus: Change inspires me to get moving. Mars - Neptune: Lethargy overtakes me when I need to take action. Mars - Pluto: My passion and drive are powerful and highly focused.

♃ Jupiter - Saturn: Past mistakes keep me from being overly optimistic.  Jupiter - Uranus: Innovation tends to work for the good of me.  Jupiter - Neptune: Giving to others has always brought positivity into my life. Jupiter - Pluto: I find luck on my side when I am tenacious and passionate.

♄ Saturn - Uranus: My erratic, rebellious behavior has gotten me in trouble. Saturn - Neptune: Losing myself in others has taught me a hard lesson. Saturn - Pluto: I have felt karma’s sting from being overly domineering.

GENERATIONAL PLANETARY ASPECTS (The interpretation applies more toward your generational group, rather than you as an individual) ♅   Uranus - Neptune: My vision of an ideal society is my search for the truth. Uranus - Pluto: I feel the need to help transform today’s social establishment.

♆ Neptune - Pluto: Weaknesses must be intensified in order to draw strength.

The Planets, Retrograde, and You

What is Retrograde?

In astrology, the chart of an individual and the planetary affects are impacted and influenced by their spin and movement. Typically, from our perspective here on Earth, planets rotate on a forward path. There’s a brief period, called the stationary period, when the planets slow and appear to have stopped moving       altogether. But at times, after resting in a stationary position, planets will also appear to be spinning backwards. This phenomenon for astrologers means that the planet is in retrograde.

Jupiter

It takes 12 years for Jupiter to travel around the Sun. It pauses into a stationary position for 5 to 8 days. It’s retrograde period lasts for about 4 months or so, approximately once each year. Jupiter rules over your need to grow, expand and learn.

One of the two social planets, Jupiter can affect people in a very holistic manner. This retrograde causes society to reevaluate ethics. Spiritual beliefs and positions are questioned, laws and acceptable or unacceptable behaviors are re-evaluated. Jupiter’s retrograde reminds us we’re all interconnected, as a society, culture and people. From this view point we see more of the things we have in common, instead of differences. We look at those behaviors that may have once been unacceptable, or had a stigma to them and find compassion and acceptance.

Jupiter is also a ruler of travel. When in retrograde, travel plans are often adversely affected. Even the best well laid plans can fall apart. Luggage can be lost, means of transportation can develop mechanical problems and reservations can be mixed up or canceled.

Mars

Mars requires 687 days to travel one cycle around the Sun depending on the time of year. It’s stationary for up to 5 days. Its retrograde period happens every 2 years and it stays in this state for 2 to 2 and a half months. Mars rules over physical needs or physical expressions of emotions.

As the Planet of War, when Mars is in a retrograde period it can create anger and discord. Often it turns inward and people go through periods of great self doubt. Passive aggression, inner angst, stress and anguish are all contributions of the Mars retrograde. This inner angst can be released in unhealthy ways, and directed at others. Such as creating illness, heightened stress, an increase in conflicts and severe road rage. But people who are fairly balanced individuals, both in emotion and nature, may not be as affected by this retrograde as others might be. But be assured that no one escapes it’s affects. Short tempers can be applied to even the most calm and patient people.

Mercury

The Mercury retrograde is perhaps the best known retrograde. It requires 88 days to make a complete pass around the Sun and remains stationary for anywhere between a few hours or a few days, depending on the time of year. This planet goes into retrograde 3 times a year for about 3 weeks each time. Mercury has the highest frequency of retrograde, but stays in this cycle for the shortest length of time. Mercury rules over communication and thought                or thinking things through.

Communication is greatly affected by this planet’s pull. During this period, individuals may find their messages can be conveyed through other less familiar mediums. Messages may be misunderstood; whispers may be overheard and mail or email may be misdirected. Reviewing legal matters can become confusing, or unclear. Public speaking can become difficult, and those giving speeches can be easily misquoted.

You may find it easier to provide self-expression through other forms rather than verbal or written.

Neptune

It takes 165 years for Neptune to circle the Sun. It can spend 14 years in each Sign of the Zodiac. and remain stationary for about 2 weeks. Neptune goes into retrograde 5 months out of every year. Neptune rules over logic and the importance of balance or the flow of life.

When in retrograde, logic falls to the wayside. People gain an increased interest in intuition or esoteric matters. Dreams and psychic abilities find new followers, as people beginning to analyze their inner natures. New outlets of communications come to the surface as artistic abilities get expressed.

Neptune is also the ruler over bacteria, viruses and the immune system. So when it goes retrograde, allergies may kick up or worsen. In addition, children who are given vaccinations during this time, can develop stronger reactions to the drugs. Many people will suffer with an over-sensitive immune system             and can develop more serious diseases.

Pluto (Yes, Pluto may not be classified as a planet anymore but it’s still important)

It takes 248 years for Pluto to rotate around the Sun. So this planet can spend up to 21 years in each Sign. It typically spends 17 days in a stationary position and about 5 months in retrograde during each Earth year. Pluto rules over generations, learning from each generation to the next. It also rules over             history and learning from the past.

Pluto’s retrograde brings change, with fresh starts and dead ends. During this period, things we hang onto the most can suddenly be taken away causing us to reevaluate what we value most. Change can occur through destruction and rebuilding or rejuvenation and regeneration. Outside forces are at work as well, including government upheaval, weapons and war. Change can often be difficult, and sometimes being forced into change is the only way to push some people forward in life.

Saturn

Saturn’s average cycle around the Sun is 29 and a half years. Its stationary period, lasts for about 11 or 12 days. And once a year it goes retrograde for about 4 and a half months. Saturn rules over status or your desire to protect your position, in life or in opinion/belief.

One of the two social planets, Saturn slows everything down. But in retrograde it can be a tough taskmaster. It can make us work harder or take longer to think things through, for both our actions or the events occurring around us. There are no short cuts during this time period and detailed plans shouldn’t be rushed. Take time to breathe and do things right the first time.

Issues with authority may also be in the forefront during this retrograde. Working on legal matters, such as contracts or deals may be delayed. Deadlines may be extended and may find yourself working on something you thought was already complete.

Uranus

Uranus takes a full 84 years to orbit the Sun. It’s very long year can cause this planet to remain in each Sign of the Zodiac for about 7 years. The stationary period for Uranus is 2 weeks, and its retrograde lasts for about 5 months out of every Earth year. Uranus rules over motivation, goals and originality.

Uranus in retrograde, suggests you expect the unexpected. Surprises come out of no where. This can be wonderful or undesirable, depending on the situation. Uranus is the odd ball of the planets in our solar system. It can bring whims of fancy that amaze and amuse. Or it can come with chaos either externally in the world or internally to the individual.

At this time, some people might find their wilder side coming to the surface, or the outgoing person can become uncharacteristically shy. Extreme variations or opposites in your personality are not uncommon and you’ll find yourself behaving very differently than other people perceive you.

Venus

Venus revolves around the Sun in 225 days and remains stationary for 3 to 4 days. Every 18 months or so, this planet slips into retrograde for approximately 6 weeks. Venus rules over relationships and feelings.

A Venus retrograde focuses on romantic relationships and intimate emotions. Suppressed feelings may come to the surface and you might find new ways to expressing them. People may reevaluate what they want, from life and from those around them. And during this retrograde, they may also seek these new desires elsewhere. Even individual value systems can come into question. What we valued most may seem unimportant, or what we disagreed with before can some how not seem so bad or different. We may find ourselves re-evaluating the meaning of personal views, such as friendship, love, intimacy or even spiritual beliefs.

uranus in the chart operates outside of expectations. what you expect of yourself and what others expect of you is defied. it’s like a weird schrodinger’s cat of the chart: it’s both exactly what you think it will be, and absolutely nothing of the sort. uranus fluctuates, transcends, evokes genius and madness, and leaves you, frankly, a little confused and weirded out sometimes. the house in which uranus resides has to be treated accordingly; if you try to mute its energy, it will backfire on you.

neptune in the chart acts as a siren song. she lures you in with promises of joy, paradise, and sanctuary, but if you do not heed the warnings of others and go in blindly, will punish you. you have to learn to know better, it promises “once you achieve this, you’ll be happy” but really all she’s doing is warning you: if you seek blind happiness in that house, you will never find it. you must learn how to take off the rose-coloured glasses and understand the intuitive power you can obtain from neptune without falling prey to its delusions.

URANUS

1ST HOUSE - Uranus in the House of Self You tend to deviate in relation to the self. You may appear to be somewhat eccentric in the way you present yourself to others, especially in first impressions. You may use an unusal way of dealing with others as a means to conceal other parts of your personality that you don’t wish others to know about. You change your eating habits quite suddenly from one approach to another. This can have an adverse effect on your health when you change your nutrition to something such as junk food.

2ND HOUSE - Uranus in the House of Possessions The way in which you obtain money is somewhat unusual. There may be sudden changes in your financial position. Yet you may not be as concerned about money as others. Your self confidence might change drastically on occasions, when sometimes you are very confident, and other times you aren’t so confident. You may appear not to prioritise things in the way others might prefer.

3RD HOUSE - Uranus in The House of Communication and Thinking Your relationships might be a bit strange, or appear so to others. The way you think can be inventive and insightful, and you may communicate in ways that are different. Your are extremely curious and interested in many things, perhaps science or education. You may have at least one brother or sister who is somewhat eccentric. You could be a writer with novel ways of telling a story. It is likely people think you are somewhat cold, because of your tendency to deal with many things in a light manner. You are very restless and move around a lot, although normally in the locality.

4TH HOUSE - Uranus in the House of Home Your early upbringing may have been unconventional, and your present home is likely to be different from other people’s. Perhaps you use new technology to make your home different and energy saving. You may make sudden changes in the place you live, moving house frequently. You may bring about sudden and unexpected changes in your family history, or such changes may affect you. You feel most at home when you are making changes, and creating a home in an unconventional way.

5TH HOUSE - Uranus in the House of Pleasure Your children may be gifted. And you probably have unusual hobbies. Romantically, you are unlikely to make deep relationships. You are more likely to have relationships with many people. You should be careful that you do not become too bossy in an attempt to be impressive, and you should avoid being too proud.
