One of the companions of prophet Muhammad was given the nickname of Abu Hurairah (”father of the kitten”) by him, because he was so kind to cats and took care of them.

Since cats clean themselves they’re seen as halal too so yea
Cats were literally domesticated in the Middle East and are still the most common and beloved house pet in the region, because as previously stated, they have a special status in Islam.
Why do people make up such bullshit “facts”????

It is told that Muhammad awoke one day to the sounds of the Adhan, the Muslim daily call to prayer. Preparing to attend, he began to dress himself; however, he soon discovered his cat Muezza sleeping on the sleeve of his prayer robe. Rather than wake her, he used a pair of scissors to cut the sleeve off, leaving the cat undisturbed.
