I'm sorry we're not going to take away JKR's money by boycotting her

If she stopped making money on all HP stuff right now she'd still be rich as shit for life

Like I get not wanting to give her more money and wanting to send a message by boycotting but some of y'all are acting like we can take away all of her influence and money by not engaging in a thing that millions of people who don't know what's going on will still be engaging with anyway

Not to say it's pointless or futile or you shouldn't do it but like she's going to stay rich

Yeah like maybe I'm extra grouchy about this but I've seen about 10 "remember that HP was made by a horrible person and your awful for engaging in it" posts for every "here's how to support trans folks especially those in the UK" post, and it makes it seem like people care more about the opportunity to yell at others then actually support trans folk.

#so heres the thing...#im not giving jkr my $ anymore bc even though it doesnt change much i just dont want to #but i think supporting people in need is always more important than hating horrible people #like fuck jkr but at the same time i think it would be more productive to talk about how to support minorities #i can't speak on behalf of other ppl #but as an example i think talking about how to be a jewish ally is more meaningful than 'reblog to punch a nazi!!"#jk rowling
