move over, i’m getting married
Hey walking dead fans, found some old stuff from TFS in a sketchbook I forgot about. The first 2 images are my thumbs for the scene in episode 3 where Clem and James talk before they sneak into the herd. It was actually the last scene I really got to shoot myself at telltale, as the way the whole James boyfriend thing was supposed to look was so specific in my mind I just had to do it myself. The thumbs are pretty accurate to how the scene went in the final! I’d been just directing for so long it was great to actually do a scene by hand again.
The third image is the first sketch I made of the episode 4 cave so environment could create a layout. As you can see I imagined a bit more cave than we were able to afford (that bit you squeeze through was intended to be much longer) and the river crossing puzzle uses a wooden pallet instead of a log, but the general flow remained the same. There was at one point a very loose idea that there would be like, walkers coming out of muddy pits but that clearly never happened.
Anywho, thought someone might find this interesting!

Did you miss Сlementine? I recommend for viewing guys, definitely!😉👍
Here’s a thought.
After the ending, and after things start to settle down again, there’s something on Clem’s mind.
She is finally at home, and she finally feels safe, so there is one thing she wants to do because she’s now done running.
She makes a grave for Lee.
She asks the other kids first, and they were okay with the idea, so they got a stone, and wrote Lee’s name on it.
It was an empty grave, with no body or belongings, but it still brought her a sense of comfort, and she would visit it every day.
The other kids visit too. They thank Lee for protecting her and giving them the chance to meet her. Louis/Violet visit the most out of them, asking for Lee’s blessing, and talking about how great and lucky they are to have Clementine in their life.
And finally, AJ picks up flowers every time he’s out fishing, and brings them back to Lee. He tells him not to worry about Clem, because he will protect her and keep her safe.
May i add,,, those comments from Violet and Louis? “We’re gonna do this the right way” and “This is how adults do things. Not us”? Those lines always stuck with me. Like, Woah. This group is so different than all the other groups we’ve seen. First off, they’re kids, but not only are they kids. There’s a meaning to the group being a kid’s group. Otherwise it would be just like any group that just happens to be all kids. But with those lines, specially if both are taken into account…
By having Louis say “This is how adults do things. Not us” it showcases a difference between this group and other groups, because We do things different from Them. And it’s not just any difference. Groups can be different. But it also implies that it’s different because they’re kids. The act of being kids set them apart in an almost ethical level. Being kids doesnt only make them easier targets or makes their enemies underestimate them, because they being kids is not for others. It’s not about how adults view kids, but about how kids are themselves, for themselves. They have a different behavior and a different point of view and a different philosophy of life and the game is not about how adults think of kids. Kids are often somewhat left outside of society and coming of age stories are about kids discovering society and finding their place in it. Adults are the refference point and to be a Full Person, you need to be an Adult, and fullfill certain goals by the Adult’s logic and by Adult Standards. But this is a free of adults zone. This is a society that consists on children that havent seen an adult in almost a decade, and didnt grow up to survive in the Adult Society. They grew up to survive in the zombie apocalypse and they create a different society by themselves, for themselves, with a different set of values and different acceptable behaviors. And I really like it.
Violet saying “We’re gonna do this the right way” doesn’t tell you that Kids =/= Adults, but it’s still something so different from other groups that it’s implied, really. I mean, if this were the TV show, do you think Rick would just tolerate his friend pointing the gun at everyone? Do you think ANY of the groups we’ve seen beforw would act like this? When the kids approach Marlon, they don’t use violence or anger. These kids are basically siblings. They grew up together. They’re all friends and they all care deeply for each other and it shows. Hell Violet and Marlon clearly dont get along and she still tries to calm him down. They want to talk to Marlon. They think they can talk things through and that they can fix most of it together. They’re practically comforting him and bringing him down from his hysterics to talk, like civilized people. By showing the difference between how kids and adults deal with a crisis, it’s implied that “The Right Way” is not an Adult Way.
I have so much to say about how childhood is treated and portrayed in the game, I should probably write a longer analysis and make a fucking youtube channel for it. I’m pretty tempted to do so.
