so yesterday spookscas, who is my artist for deancas big bang, made this lovely post and basically made me cry, because i love her so much and she's so damn right. this is my first year participating in any of the big bang challenges and the whole process has been exciting and nerve-wracking. the idea of getting fanart for a fic i was probably going to write anyway, working with an artist to see your words come to life is just the coolest thing. the art i got from musingsofashley for my femslash minibang was so goddamn wonderful, and i can't wait for everyone to see the stuff sandra's done for my dcbb because let me tell you: IT IS FRICKIN' GORGEOUS. i want to send a great big, sloppy kiss out to the person/people who first came up with the idea of the big bang and to all the people that make them happen every year, because they're AWESOME.
but like sandra said in her post, it's so very much more than just getting gorgeous fanart. it's working together with someone who cares about the subject matter as much as you do, each being inspired by the other in a beautiful collaborative feedback loop. but it's also meeting new people and making new friends who you may never have met otherwise. i'm so grateful to have met both sandra and ashley and so glad that we clicked in a way that's made it possible for us to become friends that talk about everything and encourage each other in other ventures, not just art and fic.
so yeah, i've got some fucking amazing art out of the deal (hooooo boy is it amazing). but i also got two amazing new friends so far, and that's what i'm really grateful for. love you girls. xx

lol! I thought perhaps you spit tea out b/c you saw something funny, like this post and what almost happened to me with my water. :D Sounds like you need to get yourself a new keyboard.
hahaha i'm glad my post brought you joy. I left it upside down when i left the office in the hopes that any remaining tea would drain out of it and it might be working tomorrow morning. i can hope, right? if not, it's as easy as begging the IT guys for a new one lol
