Will Work for a Better World

Hi, friends and followers! As you may know, I was arrested in November at a Black Lives Matter rally. The arresting officer alleges that I kicked an officer, which I didn’t, but they City is charging me with assault. I have an incredible lawyer who’s giving me a discounted rate, but this kind of expense isn’t something I’ve budgeted for. If you’re able, please consider contributing to my legal funds! Got arrested yesterday at the #BlackLivesMatter rally in seattle. Cops bruised me up (face, too, but it's not dark enough to show). I'm not going to make a statement until after my hearing, but I spent last night in jail and am facing a charge for felony assault. Luckily there's video showing I didn't do it. Thank white privilege or I might not be this lucky.

If yall hate violence soooo much then why does it permeate every part of our lives? Why are there no "world saved through sit-ins and peaceful protests" movies? No Tony Stark appealing to Ultron's morality? BECAUSE ITS TOO UNREALISTIC EVEN FOR A MOVIE ABOUT SUPERHEROES AND GODS AND A MAN WHO TURNS GREEN WHEN HE GETS MAD.

Y’all literally only believe that violence doesn’t solve anything if it’s marginalized people fighting back.

We stand with our brothers and sisters in Baltimore, Chicago and across the country. We demand justice for #FreddieGrey #RekiaBoyd #MyaHall and all victims of police terrorism. Instead of flooding Baltimore, organizers have been asked to mobilize locally, so that’s what we’ll continue to do. BLM co-founder Patrisse Cullors-Brignac described the radical Black love of these uprisings well by explaining: "Black people, we are fully deserving of the room and space to fully express our humanity. That is what #BlackLivesMatter is truly about. We support all of our emotions, from our bliss to our anger to our grief...We acknowledge that our uprisings are being fueled by the love we have for ourselves and one another. A love that challenges silence, repression, and death." “

“ The criminal injustice system has invented the idea of the modern day criminal to continue the enslavement of black body in a new era. this is a demo against there violent narratives and for black autonomy self determination and to wright our own history there will be hip hop games events and maybe some autonomous marches this is a family friendly event with all attempts to stay with in green zone(demo) orange zone marches due to police are fascist and make there own choices but we do not expect in serious issues from them will have cop watch there to play as community accountability with video. “

The genocide of black people has been going for centuries. It's finally getting a little attention (a fraction of what it deserves) and people are so appalled and offended, not by the ongoing degradation and murder of black people, but by the gall of black people to start fighting back and raising hell.

If you're white and have a problem with black people not following bullshit rules of respectability, sitting down, being quiet, and waiting for we white people to maybe stop being quite as racist and violent, you're part of the problem.

The protesters in Baltimore and everywhere else have my full support. They're not killing, they're not raping, they're destroying pieces and symbols of our white supremacist system that was built on the dehumanization, kidnapping, and murder of their not so distant ancestors, AND that relies on the marginalization and exploitation of those living now.

From tonight's rally in Spokane. The woman shown was Shereese Francis. She was 30 years old, living in New York, and was murdered by the police for being a mentally ill black woman. Her life mattered. Her memory matters. Black lives matter.
