have cut out lining for pixie hood. main fabric is unfortunately in a box on top of my wardrobe where I am scared to climb but MAYBE I'll do it after posting this just because I'm so so brave

I actually did fetch the fabric only to discover it was both another colour than I remembered (very dark navy and not petrol-y green) AND more than I remembered (90x155 cm) and now it feels like a bit of a waste to use a small part of it to make a lil hood. Maybe I should get another fabric for the hood and do something else with this wool? Maybe that's an applique vest (but it will be very warm. also if I use wool I don't think I'll quilt it.. my vision was a quilted linen vest. gambeson-core I guess.) Idk. I'm going to sleep on it.

#another concern about the navy fabric: if for a hood with a white lining (that folds up into a lil brim) do i risk people seeing nun?#unclear#maybe i should just bite the bullet and go look at what's in the fabric store#sometimes i sew#at all times i overthink

#it also hasn't been washed yet which is very sad and means this project will be a drawn out one#because i do not currently have the spoons for laundry#UNLESS i bring it down and discover i have in fact washed it#that OR i decide i'll simply never wash this unspecified wool mix so i don't need to prewash it#... maybe i'll do it in the sink?#idk thinking out loud here#applied faunology#sometimes i sew#i really want to go to bed but my hair is wet so i should consider the hairdryer but im too tired to use the hairdryer so i wanna go to bed#etc ad nauseum

Currently obsessed with these naturalistic illuminations from a manuscript of De Proprietatibus Rerum (1447, Bibliothèque d'Amiens, ms. 399). I just know that whoever commisioned this must have hired the nearest autistic artist with an insane obsession for birds before proper birdwatching was even a thing. They hired the nearest De arte venandi cum avibus fanboy.

Like, the fact that despite the stylized drawings you can clearly tell that these are a corvus corax, a corvus cornix and a corvus corone?! Hello?!?!

just as I was falling asleep yesterday I was woken up by a loud electronic beep coming from inside my head and in my groggy state I became very concerned that this was a sign I was actually an android so I had to lie there and catalogue signs of organic life until I fell asleep for real
