#REPOST @thekitchenista with @get__repost__app Spicy Dungeness crab tacos! This actually made no damn sense. The strain was super lemon haze though. ☺️ Got a ton of crabs from #costco and baby, first time but won’t be the last because Dungeness crabs are so meaty. The shells are very thin and easy to crack, so compared to other types of crabs or even lobster, it was more than worth the time to pick fresh meat. I wanted a spicy taco sauce but nothing that would mask the crab flavor. I turned to that homemade piri piri sauce (yes the one that almost killed me lmao), thinned out with tomato, butter, and lime. The crispy tortilla shells are critical. They were simply fried in peanut oil using the tongs to hold the shape. Hit with a dash of salt while draining on paper towels. The crunch of the romaine was also a good move… It was all good. The spicy crab mix, the way the lime and pickled shallot hit, the fresh mint, that creamy avocado… smh. You had to be here I guess. 😂😂😂 P. S. You really don’t need a recipe, it’s exactly as shown. Pickled shallots were made with vinegar and a pinch of salt and sugar. I used my homemade piri piri hot sauce but you could pick up a bottle of Nando’s hot sauce and try the same thing.
