I think Rey's code of honor is so interesting. I mean, obviously she's had a crazy hard life, had to learn to fight, to defend herself, to scrape and scrimp to survive. For as long as she can remember, she's been motivated by two things: scavenging enough for portions and waiting for her family to return. But then she won't sell bb8 even for the most portions she's ever seen in her life, and when bb8 tells her that Finn stole Poe's jacket, homegirl beats his ass without hesitation. And then two seconds later she blatantly steals the millennium falcon. The best part of it is that Rey doesn't give a shit about rules, she cares about people. Sure, she'll learn the rules of the game, if only to figure out how far she can bend them, but when it comes down to it, personal connection is everything to her. She beats the shit out of Finn for bb8, and then proceeds to commit grand theft starship for Finn a minute later because he's proven himself to her. Finding the resistance, flying with Han Solo and Chewie, even insisting that she has to go back to Jakku to wait for her family, it's all based on making connections with people. And doesn't that make a heartbreaking kind of sense for a girl who's been on her own since she was five?

so we all know that Rey is a killer pilot and there’s that headcanon floating around that she goes by ‘Rey Dameron’ on her official Resistance pilot paperwork, but I feel like the same day she gets her wings, she (and bb8) go missing.

And, appropriately, everyone loses their goddamn minds. I mean, she’s their best chance against the First Order, the first in the new generation of Jedi. Finn and Poe scour the base and Poe is seconds away from grabbing a replacement flight droid and going after her. But before anything can be done, Rey returns. She’s smiling, cheerful, and has in her hands a small doll that looks like it’s been made out of a rebel uniform, and a battered pilot’s helmet, both covered in liberal amounts of coarse yellow sand.

She gets reprimanded for leaving the base without authorization, of course, and Finn and Poe hardly let her out of their sight for the next couple of days, but Rey is never without her old helmet from Jakku, and her doll sits firmly on her dash whenever she goes flying with her squad. They keep her safe, she says, they did so on Jakku, and now they’ll be with her wherever the galaxy needs her,

So I can't get the idea out of my head that Finn has never heard music before. I mean, why would he? The storm trooper training consists of programming, reprogramming, and the singular objective to follow orders. Where in that regime would music fit? Just picture Rey or Poe singing softly to themselves (bc we know that daisy and Oscar can sing like fucking angels) and when Finn hears them he just goes still. Whatever he's doing, whoever he's talking to, he just stops dead in his tracks. Tears spring to his eyes and without thinking, he sweeps them into a tight, heart wrenching hug because these two have given him so much - And now they've given him music.
