Celebrating Christmas with Adam and Eve!

Adam groans as he woke up to an empty bed, his arm searches around the sheets for his wife and their little human but was met with nothing but cold empty spaces. He whimpers and buries his face in the pillows, it wasn’t fun waking up alone. Eve was always the early bird and Y/N, well she’s human though she tries to adjust to their schedule. Adam insisted that Y/N didn’t need to work and that he would take care of her, being independently wealthy and all. Y/N didn’t like her job anyway, Eve didn’t object to her working if Y/N wanted it but she does like to know that she’s safe and snuggled up at the house most of the time. 

‘‘What the…huh?’‘

Music started playing from the upstairs living room, it echoed throughout the house. Was that Dean Martin? Adam reached for his phone and looked at the calendar with a loud groan. Letting his head fall back down into the pillow.

‘‘First of December…’‘

‘‘Darling! Come see-’‘

Eve walked into the bedroom only to find her husband completely lifeless, face down in a pile of pillows. His grumbles muffled, he simply waved his hand to signal Eve to just leave him be. Eve sighed and sat down on the edge and ran her hand down Adam’s bare back, encouraging him to get up. It was hard to live with a person who adores the Christmas season, Adam thinks that Y/N could at least wait until later in the month to start feeling the festive spirit but no. Every year like clockwork, first of December and everything is on full power. 

‘‘Oh come on, she’s been waiting specially for you. She’s so excited!’‘

‘’Eve, it’s exhausting…’‘

‘‘For her? Please??’‘

‘‘Alright…’‘

Adam got up and dressed up in his robe, he didn’t feel like getting dressed tonight since he just wanted to sleep. Eve linked arms with her husband and gently led him down the hall to come see what their human lover had gotten up to while they both slept. The music changed from ‘’Let it snow’’ to ‘’Jingle Bell Rock’’, Adam tried not to look annoyed. It’s not that he hates Christmas, he just sees no real point in celebrating it anymore. He’s over 500 years old, he’s seen more than enough Christmases in his time. The house was dark, like normal only there was a faint blooming glow coming from the lounge. Eve covered his eyes and made sure he couldn’t see, Adam only chuckled and started wondering how much mess Y/N must’ve made at this point. Eve led him around the corner and let go of him, Adam opened his eyes and his jaw dropped slightly. 

‘‘Surprise!’‘

The living room was completely coated in strung up lights, red, blue and green. Not overbearingly bright, pleasant and relaxing. Adam looked around the living room and noticed that Y/N had decorated his drum set as well. This was better than the last few years that Y/N had celebrated the holidays here. Adam had told her that she was free to do whatever she wanted but no lights or any ornaments that make any noise. He truly regretted the no lights rule, he had never seen so many in one place. Maybe it was time to let Christmas back in for a little while. The lights were strung up all over the walls, the back of the couch and even over the TV and the coffee table. The entry support beams had cords of yellow lights wrapped around them, little snow flakes hung from the ceiling as well. She must’ve spent all day on this. He noticed Y/N standing in the middle, tangled up in the rest of the lights. Like a glorified human Christmas tree, she looked like she needed help getting out. She struggled against the wires and then let out a nervous giggle as she looked up to Adam who only chuckled heartily.

‘‘I may have gone a bit nuts this time…’‘
