i rly wanna know like americans and non-americans- were u immunised against chicken pox or did ur parents rather u just get infected as a child??

To get personal:

I was a child before the chicken pox vaccine even came out so got infected - in the hospital, of all places! - and then went on to infect a mass of other children at a hospital event because people didn’t know I had it without the telltale spots (which showed up a few days after). 

IF the vaccine had been available, I’d have absolutely gotten it - my parents are good like that - but instead I ended up extending my hospital stay by about another week or so, all of which was spent in isolation due to the disease...and, many years later, I also ended up with shingles, which is essentially a reactivation of the chicken pox in adults that results in a strip painful bumps that often leaves scarring.

...And this is why it’s important to vaccinate. You minimize spread, illness, and the risk of future troubles that cannot be seen from getting sick in the first place.

When I go out people are telling me to be careful because of the variants, I have to stop and think for a minute, then I realize they mean the Covid variants, and not a random Loki running around loose in the wild.

So, Trump has covid and Belgium has a transgender deputy prime minister. Keep it up, October. I like where this is going!

Please stay inside as much as you can, if you have to go outside keep distance and wear a mask.

Fuck there are alot of idiots in the notes. Lemme assist:

1. Wearing a mask is not to protect you. We know that’s not how it works. It’s to protect others from you. From your water droplets. We ain’t talking about airborne fucking molecules, buddy. Its water droplets, blocked by cloth, keeping other safe. Reminding people that wearing a cloth mask doesnt protect you from viruses is stupid and besides the point. We all know this. You dont look smart you look confused.

2. Even if you’re asymptomatic (you seem healthy, no cough or fever or anything) you could still fully have and spread the virus. Plenty of people have died because of this. Dont kill your neighbors, people.

3. No one expects you to eat with a mask on and joking about it to discredit this isnt fucking funny or clever. The response to “eating out at restaurants is selfish and dangerous” isnt “lol what you want me to wear a mask while I eat?” No, fuckheads, we want you to not go out to eat. We were all doing it. We were all doing it for months. Staying in. Taking out. Caring for one another (which in turn cares for ourselves, if you cant conceptualize why you should care for others any other way)

4. Service workers aren’t thankful and begging to be let back to work serving your selfish and disgusting asses because its what they want. The government has taken away their protections, especially by reopening early, which was done to benefit the wealthy. Framing these people as benevolent philanthropists for fucking going out to brunch cuz they’re, what, sick of their own house? Is disgusting and wrong. The workers are being held hostage.

Might I add - because I hear this bullshit ALL the time on the news these days - that the odds a of a doctor writing a note that excuses someone, anyone, from wearing a mask is bullshit. 

I’ve severe heart and lung problems - my oxygen level is, baseline, staggeringly low - and every single doctor I have tells me multiple times how important it is that I wear my mask. (And I do and can breath just as well with it on as off)

So, if someone claims "I can’t wear a mask, I’ve a note from a doctor!” in your business/home, ask to see the fucking note - million to one odds they don’t have it - and then kick them out anyway (for your own protection).
