sometimes I think about the way that Taylor composed and wrote The Archer to never have a full build up in the middle of the song and then a calmness afterwards like most songs do but instead made it so it was a drawn out build up that only ended when the song did like a bow slowly pulling back an arrow or the way anxiety can sometimes feel and it makes me want to sink into the ocean my heart can’t take this
help me hold on to you

can’t stop thinking about how the archer, closer to the beginning of taylor’s relationship, has “I search for your dark side, but what if I’m alright right here?” and peace has “I’m a fire and I’ll keep your brittle heart warm if your cascade ocean wave blues come”, showing that even when he has a dark side, she’s now strong enough to stick around through it, and that also in the archer she says “I never grew up, it’s getting so old” and in peace she says “our coming of age has come and gone” showing that they ended up maturing together
the archer hits different live... but we aren’t gonna talk about that
who could stay?
Hearing her perform The Archer live I just
easy they come, easy they go
the archer & death by a thousand cuts parallels
The harmonies with “help me hold on to you”
you could stay...
