What would that potentially mean, for Jaskier, who doesn’t fight? That’s not something he wants to think about - and especially not, when it comes to Geralt, who does.

Yes, Jaskier is a teddy bear, but if you hurt his family… (for all of you who asked for bamf-bear!jaskier - I see you. This is maybe a year or two after their first winter in kaer morhen? He still hates fighting and doesn’t really do it, but he keeps training with Geralt, so even if he can’t kill those monsters, he can certainly distract them and it’s enough to protect his family.)
… Geralt is still the mother hen.

Okay so I *kind* of want to see him going up against a monster of some sort. Preferably something really big?
Geralt went on a hunt for a fiend, while Jaskier and Ciri stayed at the camp. They didn’t realize soon enough that it was a mated pair.

(I am always ready to hurt the bard and @anythinggoesfandoms egged me on, so…here we are! Jaskier lost a lot of blood, his hands are badly bruised and he’ll probably limp for quite some time, but both of them surrived.) … Jaskier probably would have gone for that thing with bare hands, if he had to.

Here we go, Geralt is back! (being prepared, armed and actually wearing an armor makes all the difference) I hurt myself with the thought that (probably all, even the not so good ones) Witchers are very accurate and precise in estimating how injured they are. That doesn’t come without knowing pain intimately.

Honestly, they both went to the Witcher school of deflection. I said somewhere that Jaskiers parents got him a charm for his eyes- I hc here that, since witchers tend to be somewhat immune to magic, it was a potion. So Jaskier isn’t really excited for a dose of golden oriole.

For that anon who wanted to know if Jaskier could kick Aidens ass - he might try, but the answer is no, he’d totally get trashed. Also Geralt might be not thrilled about watching Jaskier get knocked out and spending his evening with setting Jaskiers nose again, but Jaskier is not a delicate flower either.

Jaskier may be the master at getting Geralt to talk about things that he is prickly about, but the other way around? Oh gosh. Jaskier get’s not pinned down on a topic he doesn’t want to acknowledge. Also I don’t think Jaskier was actively trying to keep it secret from Geralt, but he’s not very comfortable with showing his scars either. Most of the whiplash Geralt feels is not from the fact that bad things have happened - bad things happen all the time, even if it is just wrong that people would want to hurt someone like Jaskier. It’s that he didn’t know, that it never passed his mind.
