so can we talk about throat whump??
-throat-lifts -getting pinned down by the throat -OR, even better, getting suddenly snatched by the throat in the middle of a fight and immediately pinned and rendered helpless -head forced back to expose the throat, which is both physically uncomfortable because of the strain and psychologically so because of the vulnerability it produces (also, gritted teeth? yes, gritted teeth and hissed breaths because it’s such a strain just to breathe) -the whumper running something sharp along the whumpee’s throat, not actually hurting them (yet) but the threat’s there, especially if it lingers over the artery 👀 -gasping/coughing fits after the pressure lets up -bruises/red marks on the throat afterwards -reflexively touching their sore throat afterwards and wincing, either at the lingering pain or the traumatic memory or both -hoarse voice, maybe even a total loss of voice
I just. WOW I really like throat-centered whump it’s a beautiful thing
This is a while before he is left for dead in the snow. If he looks bewildered about being arrested, it's because he is. He has no idea. He was just supposed to meet a friend.

#OKAY BUT CAN WE TALK ABOUT THIS FOR A SECOND #dylan obrien in both these scenes is basically delivering the same line #but look at him the first time #he is all head movement and nodding #hes blinking a lot more #theres a ton of movement in his eyebrows #this is very obviously all stiles#all sarcasm and wit #but then on the right look at his movements #they are small movements#not jerky #the kid who fidgets and falls isnt there anymore #his face is relaxed and his eyes look dark #he blinks only once and his head barely nods #he is delivering the lines as two different versions of stiles so fucking well #if you think dylan obrien isnt a good actor i need you to not only think again #but rethink all of your life choices as well (x)
