Cam asks Zee about their history

CW: past abuse, discussion of past dubcon, cam/zee stuff. Zee is largely forgiving/sees it more like Cam does than Alex does if that squicks you!

I think I avoided this conversation in depth because I think Cam would definitely avoid it for a long time, but it would happen eventually. Alex’s house timeline

Cam let himself into Zee’s room one night after work, discarding his work shirt in the laundry hamper. It was wet with warm rain from the short walk from his car to the apartment. The summer storm continued to drive against the windows. He pulled one of Zee’s tee shirts out of a drawer and sat on his bed.

“Hey. Can I ask you something?”

I would like to nominate "You promised" "I know" as one of the most heartbreaking exchanges in the english language

It's about the quiet betrayal, about resignation in place of an apology, the helpess admittance that thing have changed, that they know they promised but they have to break it this time, for whatever reason...

"The Clean up" (reposting for my new blog) for SladeRobin Week 2022 Day 4 I went for an artwork for today's prompts: Mafia/Mob Boss AU and First Time Here is a bit of context for the picture: 

Adopted into the Wayne family, the wealthiest and most powerful mafia overlords in Gotham, Dick wants nothing to do with every single one of their affairs. He's not like his step-father, not like his step-siblings; he adamantly refuses to take part in the family affairs as soon as he's old enough to decide, and he's not happy when Slade Wilson, a mercenary on the pay of the Waynes, is tasked with following Dick around to be his personal bodyguard. Not that Wilson ever confirmed it, but Dick knows how it works - he knows Bruce and how much of a control freak he is, he knows there are rival families who would try to get leverage on him by going for one of "the kids", and he knows Wilson sticks around to avoid that circumstance from happening. 

Then one day Dick's house gets broken in. Dick has sworn not to aim a gun at a person, ever; he's told himself not to become what his step-father wanted him to, that the one act of defiance he could continuously make is that of never taking a life. But that day Slade won't manage to get to him in time, and Dick is left with the choice of either take that bullet or protect himself.

Slade will deal with the clean up, though. And with the aftermath of Dick's choice.

Prompt - Where did Everyone Go?

This one is my favorite so far.

It was inspired by a scene in NHK’s Musashi in which we learn that Yagyu Hyogonosuke’s “fear of moonlit nights”, which his uncle Munenori rudely jokes about, stems from being the only person left alive after battle, looking out over a mountain of corpses (most of whom he’s killed) on a moonlit night.
