I imagine Stiles was taken when he had his buzz cut so they’ve been looking for him for a while. The blood is old and dried down and he’s clearly traumatised.

When I was drawing it I kept imagining a scenario where Stiles had to fight/perform tasks to live and then he was locked back up.

So it’s not entirely that he was rescued, just intercepted as he made his own escape. They had been closing in on finding him but had little luck in narrowing it down.
