Red, she/her. Arospec Asexual. This is just a place to store some of my favorite whump tropes -- and to drop a prompt or two that may inspire great things from you! (Not a medical professional so take my content with a grain of salt.) What is whump? See the terms, definitions and FAQ in the pinned post!

Hi! Big fan and long time lurker on your page. I was wondering if you had any prompts for werewolves being kept as pets/in a zoo (setting 1700s). I tried doing some research of my own but mostly came up with zoo buildings rather than actual animal treatment :(

From what I found, the first modern zoo was built near the end of the 1700s, in 1793. Prior to that, there were menageries kept by the royalty and wealthy. The animals weren’t treated well, usually captured violently and beaten to keep them in line. Some couldn’t be kept alive very long because they were fed the wrong diet, i.e. an herbivore elephant being fed only meat.

They were commonly exchanged as gifts, accepted as tribute, paraded around as a sign of conquest in distant lands, and forced into staged fights. (I have a feeling a werewolf would make for a great fighting spectacle.) In one of the most famous menageries, admission to see them was free if the visitor brought an animal of their own to feed to the predators.

I saw your fairy whump prompt post and I was wondering if you could do something similar but for werewolves? Thank you!

  • Silver is the werewolf's main weakness and can stop their rapid healing abilities. Silver burns them and leaves permanent scars. Liquid silver is even more potent and can burn holes right through them.
  • Fire forces them to flee and can slow their rapid healing but not entirely stop it.
  • Their sense of smell can be fooled to allow enemies to sneak up on them.
  • Their heightened hearing makes high pitched tones painful.
  • A new moon makes them slow and lethargic.
  • Mountain ash creates a barrier they can't cross.
  • Steady, low amp electricity can keep them weak or trapped in human form.
  • Wolfsbane: when ingested, it makes them weak and feverish. On the skin, it will leave burns. If they're bound in wolfsbane-studded rope, they can be trapped in their wolf form. Inhaled as a powder, it can give them hallucinations and suicidal ideations.
  • Hecatolite/Moonstone disrupts their transformation cycle. When combined with a silver collar, it renders them "tame" by sapping their powers over time. Eventually they can lose the ability to think and speak properly.

Hello! Any prompts for a werewolf whumpee being tortured? (I'm thinking like the whumper shackles them in silver while they transform so the shackles burn and their wrists grow too big for them but that's about all I got, lol) Thank you for your excellent blog ❤

Sure!

- Muzzling them

- Ripping their fur out

- Putting them in a silver collar

- Electrocuting them with a cattle prod

- Being starved of the meat they need to eat

- Breaking their hind legs (making it impossible for both of their forms to walk)

- Declawing them (which means their human form will be missing fingernails/toenails)

- Cutting them when they’re in human form so the transformation tears their wounds open even farther
