Red, she/her. Arospec Asexual. This is just a place to store some of my favorite whump tropes -- and to drop a prompt or two that may inspire great things from you! (Not a medical professional so take my content with a grain of salt.) What is whump? See the terms, definitions and FAQ in the pinned post!

hiya! so basically, in my story Whumper forces Whumpee to walk for hours across fields in summer. what could this lead to? (worse the better thx!)

There's plenty of damage to be done there!

  • Chronic fatigue
  • Sore, stiff, strained muscles and joints
  • Old injuries flaring up
  • Loss of weight and appetite
  • Sunburns
  • Dehydration
  • Neuroma
  • Shin splints
  • Lumbar strain
  • Stress fractures
  • Blisters, bunions and sores
  • Plantar fasciitis, bursitis, tendinitis
  • Bug bites/stings and prickers
  • Heat exhaustion or heat stroke

idea: whumpee on crutches has to move around a lot, for example going to work or school, and they’re so exhausted and so sore. their armpits hurt, their shoulders hurt, their chest hurts, their arms hurt, it’s to the point that the soreness caused by hauling themselves around on the crutches all day is worse than the initial injury that caused them to need the crutches.

Get some rest, Whumpee! You deserve it!

Yo what can I give someone with a sore throat/uneasy stomach besides soup and tea? Thanks

Saltwater to gargle, lemon water, honey, pickle juice, coconut oil, a popsicle (not citrus flavored), ice chips, cough drops or lozenges can all help a sore throat.

With an upset stomach, the BRAT diet is a classic (bananas, rice, applesauce, toast.) People also recommend crackers, oatmeal, lean meats, sometimes unsweetened yogurt and plain scrambled eggs.

Whumpee forced to cope with the unpleasant side effect of their treatments:

- Cough syrup that sticks to the back of their throat

- Pillows propping them up making their neck sore

- Tissues without infused lotion that rub their nose raw

- Fumes from a menthol rub burning and making their eyes water

- Warm showers that leave them nauseous and overheated

- Hydration that has them crawling out of bed over and over to the bathroom
