Today I found mysterious bruises that I don't remember getting, that was bewildering and unsettling so be sure to do it to your whumpee too
Hello! Your blog is amazing, thanks for it! Can you imagine some whump prompts for dark academia?
I'm not very familiar with the dark academia aesthetic but I can try!
- Papercuts
- Ink to the eyes
- Poisoned tea/coffee
- Constant all-nighters
- Topical poison on book pages
- Burns from candles or sealing wax
- Elegant "love" letters from a stalker
- A fall from the ladder/stairs in the library
- Dabbling too deep into tomes of dark magic
- Whumper punishing Whumpee for poor calligraphy
- Eyestrain/headaches from long reading and low light
- Hand injuries from writing for too long without breaks
- Whumper plucking Winged Whumpee's feathers for quill pens
- Hiding bruises and/or scars under their cardigans/blazers/tweed
- Overheating in said fashion (or caught in cold weather without it)
- Whumper blackmails Whumpee after getting ahold of their private writing
- Whumper inflicting wounds on Whumpee that are meant to emulate tragic classical art
Whumpee injuring Caretaker's hand with the desperation of their grasp -- bruising/breaking their fingers, their nerves burning under the strain, making them bleed by digging their nails in too hard
whumpees with swollen eyes (allergies? exhaustion? bruises?) and caretaker g e n t l y pressing a cool compress against the swelling to alleviate the pain !

Oooooh Red you posted about my damn specialty. I used to draw blood as my job and oh man. Lemme tell you. Patients with small veins that either blew instantly or after you’d remove the needle. Some patients (like myself) are hypersensitive and can feel when swapping out tubes or the smallest adjustments. You can draw blood from feet if you’re having trouble in the arm or hand which HURTS like a bitch. The bruising people get if they’re poked repeatedly and how it also hurts like a bitch to be poked in a spot that’s already bruised. I could talk about this forever. I miss doing phlebotomy.
Yep yep, I'm the pin cushion who's got knots of scar tissue from being stuck in the same places for so long and yet when you try to poke anywhere else it just blows 😅 My arm is nice and purple today
Friendly reminder for your whumpees with small, delicate veins: don't forget to give them some deep, dark bruising when they get an IV or injection

Hey, thank you! I'm glad you're having fun👍 And to answer your question, yes and yes! I'm pretty sure bruising and cracked ribs are semi-common when hit in the vest because even if the bullet doesn't penetrate the body, the force and momentum are still there.

Yes, bullets to the vest have still been known to cause injuries such as cracked or broken ribs and deep bruising.

They could possibly expect lacerations, fractures (often to the face/head and ribs from being kicked and their arms from trying to shield themself) sprains, severe bruising, internal bleeding or organ damage.
A whumpee with glasses who gets punched in the face so the bridge of their glasses leaves bruising or a gash on their septum? Underrated, top tier 👏

Speaking of vidyagame whump, Final Fantasy 15 has some bangers! The protagonist has chronic back pain due to a childhood injury, characters who are at low health start panting, hunching over between attacks, and are visibly bruised/bloodied and exhausted if you zoom in on them, and the protagonist's best friend gets blinded by magical fire (resulting in messy facial scarring). They can even start sneezing if you run around in the rain for too long! Oh, and in one of the chapters the big brute guy gets (another) massive scar on his face courtesy of his opponent's katana! It's so great!
Somehow I’ve barely come in contact with the Final Fantasy series but something here tells me I may have to look into it 👀

Some common places for domestic abuse injuries are the face and throat, chest, abdomen, arms/wrists and genitals. The face is a no-go for your scenario, but other areas can be covered up by clothing; i.e. they can wear a scarf or turtleneck to hide bruising from the neck down. The least dangerous area out of the ones mentioned would probably be the arms.

In severe cases the resulting bruising and swelling could limit the mobility of the hand, risk infection, fluid buildup, fractures, numbness and weakness when trying to do everyday tasks.
