Do you have some prompts/ideas for wild west whump? I always thought that there are great opportunities for whump there but it's basically non excistent in the whump community...
Sure! Here are a few:
Hi! First of all, I just want to say that I love your blog! It is really fascinating to read your prompts, althou I don't write any fics (for now). Second of all, I have a quick question. I'm working on a horror-detective story and want to sprinkle some whump in it. So, in the middle of a really intense investigation the main character lands himself into a hospital 'cuz of an attack of a beast-like horrific creature. But he is a very stubborn dumbass with no selfpreservation skills, so he's out in like 3-5 days. The problem is: I'm trying to figure out which injuries I should give to mc. I want him to suffer from a dangerous encounter with an eldrich monster and to feel the consequences of being beated like a ragdoll, but he also needs to have enough mobility to continue his investigation. I was thinking about breaking/dislocating his left arm (he is right-handed) and giving him a light concussion, but I want to know your opinion on this, 'cuz you have much more knowledge on this subject than me.
That's all. Sorry for a long ask and potentional mistakes (English is my second language). Have a nice day :3
Thanks for enjoying my blog!
On average it can take approximately seven to ten days to recover from a concussion and around six to eight weeks for a broken arm to heal. For a dislocated arm, they can stop wearing a sling after a few days and resume most normal activities within two weeks, but they shouldn’t do intensive exercise or heavy lifting for six weeks or more.
So depending on how intense the investigation activity is and how long it goes on, he could end up reinjuring the arm if he’s back in the action too fast. Maybe after the concussion recovery, he could focus on the information gathering/research side of things at his home base rather than being in the field, to give his arm a chance to heal further? Just a thought. You have a good day too!
An exchange between two characters with implied (later confirmed) whump.
Character A: *frantic screaming*
Character B: ...you alright?
Character A: The bear you told me about? Kinda forgot.
There’s an incorrect quote this reminds me of but I can’t remember what it was for the life of me 😅
how could i use my character’s cynophobia against him? he’s currently being illegally trained to be a pet 🥰
Hmmmm~
Anyone else comment/reblog this post with other suggestions!
I found out about a jellyfish species in Australia known as the Irukandji jellyfish. theyre small, but apparently can deliver very painful venom from stings. the symptoms tend to start about half an hour after getting stung and include "tachycardia, hypertension, severe pain, muscle cramping, and is often followed by hypotension, pulmonary edema, and potentially life-threatening cardiac complications." and the symptoms usually last at least a few hours.
This is why I don’t plan on visiting Australia anytime soon 😅
i feel like australia is waaaay underused as far as nature/wildlife whump goes. you like heat exhaustion? motherfucker, the continent is like 70% desert. broken ribs? a kangaroo can snap those babies with a single kick. shattered pelvis? cassowaries are like the kangaroos of birds, and they don't give you a chance to run first. poisining? try a box jellyfish, blue-ringed octopus, stonefish, man o' war, you name it. once you step in the ocean, you're whumped (or dead). magpies go feral every spring and a whumpee could get the shit pecked out of them if they aren't careful. the entire goddamn continent is out to get them already, why not write some drabbles about it?
People are probably just too scared to write about it because they’re scared to go IRL!
Hi! I have a situation and I hope you can help me a bit, cuz your blog is absolutely amazing and I love it so much. :)So I have two characters out in the woods with limited supplies, but they could potentially have whatever is needed, just not in large amounts. One of the gets bitten by an animal, probably a wolf. It won’t be deep enough to need stitches or anything, but it is bleeding and needs treatment. They are too far away from any help, how would the second character threat the wound?
If it’s not deep enough to need stitches, the second character can use skin glue! (It isn’t suitable for wounds over joints, though, so no putting it on knees, groin or hands.) Skin glue is applied as a liquid or paste to the edges of the wound. It takes only a few minutes to set and it usually peels off in five days or a week.
As long as the one with the bite avoids touching the glue for the first day and try to keep it dry, it should work well!
