Excuses to make two characters cuddle

when they're not that close to cuddle on their own

(CW: alcohol mention, character's death)

  • A is delirious and has a pretty bad nightmare. They call for a dead family member/long lost love/friend. In their sleep they grab hold of the arm of B that lies next to them. A calms down and the nightmare is gone. B tenses up, but doesn't wake A up.
  • It's cold and they have to warm eachother up. The awkward: "tell me if you feel uncomfortable" "No- I mean- are you? I can move backwards-" "No, it's okay. Can I place my hand on your back or...? It goes numb when you lie on it" "Oh, gosh, sorry"
  • A and B get drunk. A wakes up cuddled to B's chest. They move to their own bed and never talk about it again. It works great if A and B don't like eachother at all or are enemies to lovers.
  • B is a big spoon that needs to hug the pillow to sleep well. But after they left home for the adventure, they instinctively grab the nearest thing every night. A bag with supplies. A pillow of their mates. Their mates. They're never aware they are doing this. A's too awkward to tell them.
  • (A:) "Whaat?? US?? NOT LiKing eachother???? noooOo! That's crazy!!" squishes B hard in hug and grins with anger (B:) "NooooOo! I just- LOVE THIS GUY!" B jabs A in the ribs while laughing.

Caretaker spent so much time with Whumpee that their symptoms aren't surprising anymore. Also Whumpee wants to be treated normally. So sometimes it even becomes a comedic relief.

Pt 5 - Insomnia

Leader makes his way around the base, checking that everyone has taken care of their duties. Then he walks into the dining room, completely empty. Except for only one person sitting behind a table with a single coffee cup.

"Caretaker, what on earth are you still doing here?! The whole away team leaved for a recon at least hour ago. Wh-"

He pauses as Caretaker puts a finger to his lips in a pleading gesture, then points to his knees. The leader goes around the table and notices Whumpee curled up in a ball, lying on his lap. He managed to fall asleep for the first time in a long time.

For a moment they both watch in silence as Whumpee breathes quietly. So relaxed and so calm..

"Okay, but it's not the reason for you to pass th-"

Whumpee crinkles his eyebrows in his sleep and stirs. They both freeze in stillness, thinking they have woken him. But in a moment he only mutters quietly:

"mmmh... Caretaker..."

In his sleep, Whumpee grabs Caretaker's hand and snuggles his cheek into it.

Leader: "Oh Gosh. No, nevermind, it is the reason to pass the mission"

Whumpee forces himself to stay awake. After discovering a new power in himself, he is too afraid that if he goes to sleep he will lose control and hurt someone. His team begins to use his distraction against him.

Caretaker: "I don't know how to convince you anymore, Whumpee. You're not making any good to anyone by hurting yourself like that!"

Whumpee: "nn...no I needto stay... focused.an...conci...concio..."

Teammate: "Whumpee hold this for me for a minute"

Whumpee: "mhmm-nno sure"

Caretaker: "You're trying to tell me that you're super focused like that?"

Whumpee: "mhm I...-"

Teammate: "Hold this one too"

Whumpee: "mhmhm no problm"

Caretaker: "....Are you even aware of what's happening around you?"

Whumpee: "more than when Iwould- had- asleep or...something"

Caretaker: "Oh, really? Then why are you holding a toaster and a cactus?"

Whumpee: "..........."

Whumpee: "imsure i had some reason...."
