Fanfiction Writers Appreciation Day | August 21

I wanted to make something nice for this important day but couldn’t find the time. So, I decided to post a favorite writer list. I’ve probably forgotten some of the people who should be on this list - I ask for your forgiveness and hope I can show my love otherwise.

I suck at commenting, even liking fanfiction. I read and read and read and at some point I notice that oh god, I haven’t even said anything! Makes me embarrassed. You all deserve to hear how much we love your fics. I will try to like and comment more because now that I have started to post some fics myself, I’ve noticed how happy I become every time someone says something nice. So I cannot thank you enough for everything you do; for those countless hours you spend writing, plotting and planning. For posting your work here. For being so nice to everyone. 

It’s not your duty to do any of that, but you still do. And it’s awesome. Lots of love to you all, keep doing what you love ♥

2017 year in review

So, I see other writers posting retrospectives of their works for the year and thought it might be interesting to see what I’ve been up to (considering I’ve felt pretty unproductive lately).

This year, I’ve launched Jack Rollins, which currently weighs in at 35,288 words (not counting the couple dozen or so chapters in draft) and finished Echo, an 80 chapter 231,655 word behemoth. I don’t know how many of those words published in 2017, but it’s however many there are from chapter 51 on. Feel free to count, if you like. (Let me know, if you do. Lol)

I published some oneshots and short fics. Idle Hands (1,417), Kindness (22,729), By The Hand (1,121), 100 (605), and the tumblr exclusive The Pick Up (1,478).

As for the weekly WIPS, Back To One  posted 85,625 words and A Touch Up posted 60,997.

Add that all up together (not counting Echo) and I’ve knocked out a whopping 209,260 words or original fic in 2017. …Huh. Guess that’s not too bad. Although, now I’m curious to know how Echo would have made it look. lol

THANK YOU. For reading, for supporting writers, for cheering us on and interacting with us. For putting smiles on our faces, for making us laugh. Readers don’t get enough love. So this is for you, no matter what type of reader you are.

Thank you to those who read at all. I can’t see you on Tumblr, but I can on other sites. It’s a great feeling to know that my stories are reaching other people.

Thank you to those who write a reply or comment. Your input is so valuable. Incoherent babbling lets me know I evoked emotions. Thought-out comments let me know I provoked thinking. 

Thank you to those who send in asks or messages. It makes me feel so loved to have that personal message and to hear your thoughts. 

Thank you to all readers. Thank you for showing us writers your love, no matter how you do that. If you’re too shy to talk to us, its ok. We see your likes. If you want to comment, but can’t find the words to express your thoughts, it’s ok. We know the feeling. We are so grateful for your support, no matter how you show it!

I say all this because the world of fan fiction takes two to turn: writers and readers. It doesn’t work if one side is rude and ungrateful to the other. It only works if we all support one another and focus on the purpose of fandom, to make friends, to share something we love, and, simply put, to have fun.
