A question about feedback
Why are people so quick to send negative feedback, and very little positive feedback?
Lately the only time a writer seems to get feedback, is when someone messages them to tell them how much their writing sucks? Or that their latest fic was the worst? or that they only get so many notes because they have popular friends??
Yet I see very little positive feedback, praising the writer, telling them how much they loved the latest fic. etc etc.
If you don’t like a fic pairing, don’t read it. Simple as that. No one is forcing you to read a fic, that is your own choice.
If you don’t like the writer, then don’t follow them. It’s the same as I said before, don’t follow them. No one is forcing you. You chose to follow them, and you can easily unfollow them.
And dont ever ever say that a writer only has notes on their fic because they have popular friends. They have notes because people read and liked their fics, not because of who their friends are.
It honestly takes more time and energy to send hate mail than it does to just unfollow a blog, or simply not bother reading a fic pairing/genre that you dislike.
Stop spreading hate!!! It has just got to STOP. I mean what happened to this logic?
Feedback is literally bread and butter for us writers, and without it…. we can wither away. Feel less inspired to write. Or stop writing altogether.
And that would be a very big loss to the rest of the fanfiction world.
So send in positive feedback. Did you love a fic? Send an ask in telling the author how much you loved it!!! Do you love the author? Send ask in telling them as much!!!! Want to know how to get more notes? Send an ask in to an author you admire, and ask for advice.
If you see someone getting hate, send them some love to help lift their spirits. Let them know that they are loved and appreciated.
Always send positive feedback. Do Not Let The Negative Feedback Win.
Stop the hate. Spread the love.
