I can’t think of any time when it’s Alonzo that gets startled, off the top of my head - though I daresay it’s happened.

(Tugger is there in the shot but he’s Rap Tugger, so may or may not count. :P But if you want to look at it through the shipping glasses, you could say that Mistoffelees saw him flirting with Alonzo this time and got jealous!)

This picture makes it look almost like alonzo has little gemstones glued onto his black mouth patch and now I’m just gonna need that to be a thing.

Yes! Those are weird dots because usually the dots on the mouth patch are made to look like whisker dots but here his whisker dots are clearly the v-shaped things which are distributed differently. So it’s just. Very localised freckles.

Idk why my insomnia brain is doing this to me but I can’t stop thinking about my scrappy boi Alonzo and what if he got hurt or ill and how he doesn’t have humans so he doesn’t get vet care and what if he cut himself on something rusty and got gangrene and lost a limb like his pride would suffer so much from something like that why is my brain making me suffer like this

their little moment is in the background, so seeing it right up front doesn’t really make it register!

Nothing will convince me that this isn’t Alonzo’s first time meeting Deuteronomy. The way he grabs at Gus when he first hears like “is it really him?” And Gus is like yes it is but he still stays separate and behind the rest of the group.

Ooh, interesting thought. Alonzo as perhaps the newest addition to the tribe? And therefore UNCERTAIN of his own place within it?

Well I think he got there at the same time as Demeter (and possibly bomba as well) it’s all of their first ball. But they’ve been in the tribe for at least long enough to join rehearsals for it and stuff.

But yes definitely he’s still unsure of his place in it. As is Demeter. And bomba is loyal to Demeter more than she is the rest of the tribe I think too. But she also thinks the tribe will be a good place to live and keep Demeter safe.

Bombalurina as new is an interesting thought! She’s much more confident in her ability to make a place for herself in a new group, of course, but that does lend a new light to her behaviour in Tugger’s song - playfully challenging him for a bit of the limelight and attention, still establishing that flirty rivalry between them rather than it being an ‘old friends’ sort of routine. 

Do you see all of them as having been previously involved with Macavity in some way? or Alonzo as an independent street cat who helped the girls get out, or similar? Or them all arriving aorund the same time by chance?

No ace Alonzo here sadly.

I can’t remember what the purple black white and yellow flag was at the moment but not ace.

… so, I just learned what the NB flag is! I mean, I’ve seen it around before and vaguely wondered whhy people were now adding yellow to the ace flag and ruining the pretty aesthetic but you can’t really complain about THE AESTHETIC if it means someone’s being included who was excluded before. But apparently it was not that. :) oh well, I can still have ace!alonzo in my head.

(he is also, of course, pan/bi. but then, all the cats are, except for the few who are just gay.)

As someone who is ace who has frequently been told that I “present myself sexually” (all men of course) I’m in full support of an Ace Alonzo.

Yes. He’s very sensual, and can also be very flirty, and I think it would take him a long time to realise that he wasn’t actually sexually attracted to anybody because because he’s been so used to thinking about himself in those terms and using ‘sexy’ as part of his self-image and presentation. But that weird haunting feeling of ‘not quite doing/feeling it right’ could definitely have contributed to the ‘uncertain’ part of his character.

(Similarly, I like to headcanon Tugger as ace, but I don’t think he’d have the same conflicts over it: he’s quite happy to be loud and sexy and playful without feeling the need to be sexual himself.)
