so my first quarter at university is almost at an end (finals in three weeks what??) and college really wasn’t anything like i expected it to be. not going to lie, these eight or so weeks have been some of the hardest days ever, and here are a few of the things i have learned:
1. You learn how to be alone. Everyone has their own dreams, their own things to do, and for the most part, you end up doing things by yourself. You walk to class alone, eat lunch alone, and it really teaches you to be independent.
2. You’re still a kid, and everyone around you is too. There’s still so much life ahead of you, so many things to learn and discover about the world, and it’s okay to feel like you’re scrambling to find a future. You have time, so don’t stress out too much.
3. It might be the best four years of your life, it might not be. I’m really starting to learn that college isn’t for everybody, and some people adapt and thrive a lot more easily than others. Don’t pressure yourself into making it “the best four years”. Just take it one day at a time and enjoy it as you go.
