love a good forehead fever check as much as the next gal but like we’re sleeping on so much fever checking potential here

  • overly warm hands, palms just beginning to sweat
  • a rapid pulse throbbing under glistening skin
  • feeling the warmth radiating off of whumpee through a thin t-shirt
  • even better, cool hands against the overheated skin of a bare, aching back
  • grabbing whumpee’s forearm and finding the unnatural heat there

  • Whumpee’s heart dropping to their heels knowing it’s to late to swerve
  • Driver Caretaker throwing out an arm to brace Whumpee in their seat
  • Whumpee swerving to avoid an animal, only to smash into a tree or guardrail
  • Whumpee sitting dazed, blood pouring from their head, on the road just a few feet away from their totaled car as they wait for help to arrive
  • Broken nose from airbag deployment
  • Broken ribs from the sudden jerk of the seatbelt

you’ve heard of failed rescue and failed escape, now get ready for failed kidnapping, where Whumper just isn’t that good at being a whumper

  • Chloroform doesn’t work the way it does in the movies, so Whumper is left dealing with a partially conscious Whumpee they meant to knock out
  • Whumper getting pulled over for speeding while transporting a kidnapped a whumpee in the backseat
  • Whumper that drugs the wrong person at a club or bar
  • Whumper calling to demand ransom on Whumpee, but they don’t think to call from a burner phone, use a voice changer, or take any precautionary measure to keep the call from being traced
  • Whumper who makes a lot of empty threats because they’re actually pretty squeamish about blood
  • Whumper’s neighbors reporting seeing suspicious activity next door
  • Whumper doesn’t take care to cover their tracks very well - maybe it’s arrogance, maybe it’s incompetence
  • Whumper who never gets a chance to snatch Whumpee because Whumpee’s daily schedule has suddenly changed

  • Being texted pictures of themself on their 3 AM grocery trips. Pictures of themself at work. Pictures of themself taking their trash out. Pictures of themself sleeping in bed
  • The fear of knowing that not even their own home is safe
