I'm going to go with just TMNT fics here, since that's what this blog is all about! So, in no particular order (okay, alphabetical order... but still):
The only Christmas Turtle fic I have ever written, but I love it so much! It fits with most versions, and there's definitely Autistic Donnie vibes going on.
This one holds a special place in my heart because I wrote it for my father about thirty years ago. I think he would be happy to see that people are still reading it to this day.
The first story in my 70s AU. I just had so much fun doing the research for it, plotting out the lair, planning the turtles' personalities, and so forth. I'll be adding more stories to the AU eventually, but this one was a blast to write!
One of my few attempts at a script-form fic, and the first (and so far only) story I have written for the Bayverse Turtles. Again, the research was a lot of fun (though figuring out how to format a script was a little less fun). It is on temporary hiatus until I get a few of my shorter stories completed, but is definitely not abandoned!
I'm just... in love with this story. I can't explain why, I just love it so much! It is a re-write of one I wrote back in the early 2000s, and I have been really fleshing it out from the old version!

First of all, eeee! Thank you so much!
Second of all, No! Your stuff doesn't suck! I guarantee it just feels like that because you're the one with it in your mind, and you know all the beats and twists, and you know the ending and... you know?
I've been writing fanfic since before I knew what it was; I started posting my stuff online way back when the only place to do that was fanfiction.net and newsboards and, if you had the time to figure out how to do it, Geocities and Angelfire sites.
I had little knowledge back then of how to write properly. My grasp of grammar and tense and spelling were definitely lacking. But I wrote anyway because I had stories to tell, and I was going to share them one damn way or another! And you know what, people didn't much care about the grammar being less than perfect, because they were there for the story... and I was okay at telling a story. And more importantly, if you show love for what you're writing, then it will always be worth reading!
Other than that, the first piece of writing advice I would be inclined to give would probably be to practice writing drabbles. It takes a lot of work to be concise, and restricting yourself to a set word count really helps! Writing something complete in exactly 100-200 words will force you to decide which details need to be left in and which ones are best left out.
You can check out my TMNT drabbles if you want to see what I mean! It's a fun challenge, and in the end coming up with just the right combination of words to get the point across is so satisfying!
My youngest kid, zero_is_a_nerd, is 12 years old, and has posted three drabbles of her own so far to get the method down. She is now working on a longer story that she wants me to beta-read for her. My eldest kid, CharbroilLaFlamme, is 27 and has been writing for years. She hasn't posted anything in a while, but she is definitely still writing!
But I digress!
Another thing I do when I'm writing is keep a list of words that I tend to use too often. I'll search in my drafts for words like "leaned", "stared", "laughed", "looked", etc; and if they appear more than a couple times in a chapter, then I will replace them with other, lesser-used words and phrases, or even remove them entirely. There's only so many times a person can sigh before they start to hyperventilate, y'know?
Anyway, sorry for dragging this out and being fairly incoherent! I was just so surprised by your message! Thank you for making me feel so good!

Like you said all that issue is him feeling awful for not being able to do anything. I once wrote a scene when he had a broken leg he still tried to do stuff and Mikey kept trying to get him to stay on the couch lol!

I think one of the times when he was happiest (besides hanging out with his brothers and Casey) was when he was helping Mrs. Morrison!

Well, when I whump the Turtles I don't tend to make any of them scream, really... unless its like really severe whump. Usually if there's screaming, it is because they're angry!

He is always such a protector, and I feel a lot of his anger issues are because he feels guilty for not being able to protect others. He's more angry at himself than anything... and when that anger leads him to hurt others, that makes it even worse for him. Like, imagine if he did hit Mikey when they were fighting that one time. He would not been able to forgive himself, like ever. Ever.
It makes me wonder if some time when he was a kid he failed to protect someone and it led to that someone getting either really badly hurt or even killed. I know that guilt and anger like his needn't have any kind of grand backstory behind it, but it does make sense with him. He's not one to let go of things very easily (SAINW, anyone?)

Just imagining him getting his humanity and sense of self back, then having it slowly drawn away from him again... trying desperately to find some cure while he still has the ability to use his intellect...
And his brothers and Splinter! Knowing that in curing him of the double mutation, they effectively doomed him! And Donnie trying to tell them it wasn't their fault, that they didn't know... that he doesn't blame them...
And the last shred of self he retains being the loyalty and love he has for his family....

There are two that I have at least partially written but haven't posted anything of on AO3 yet. One of them is called "The West 17th Street Escape" (that's just a working title, but I am getting attached...).
6. 💾What is your document of your wip/ a wip called? (not the stories actual title but what you’ve saved it as)
I generally name the files whatever the story names are, with a little variation.
The story I mentioned above is named "2 - 70s - The West 17th Street Escape" because... well, the 2 means I haven't posted anything on it yet (a 1 would mean I have started posting it), the 70s is because it is tied into my 70s AU, and then there's the title of the thing.
Maybe a bit complicated, but it helps me keep track!
