the story; dani was a founding member and eventual co-leader of professor xavier’s new mutants. she spent time as a valkyrie on asgard and helped cable’s original x-force team. later, she became a teacher at the xavier institute, leading the new mutants squad. when she was depowered during m-day, she left the school, but continued to guide young superheroes through the initiative program and the young x-men team. after the birth of hope summers, dani helped re-form and lead the new mutants once more, and later joined the fearless defenders.

powers; before she was depowered during m-day, dani had the psychic ability to project people’s greatest fears or desires into immersive illusions. she honed this ability into what she called “psychic arrows,” able to stun people. dani could also communicate with animals. she temporarily became a valkyrie of asgard, and regained these abilities after losing her mutant powers.
