ALIVE is Target’s debut album & “Awake” is the title track & the one they performed on music shows. Here’s a few of my favorite performances: M Countdown • Music Bank • Show Champion • showcase stage • practice video • practice video (blindfolded!!!) ||| “Tempest” showcase stage

If done right, intros on albums work perfectly to introduce the title song. This one is SUCH a good lead into “Awake”!! It’s dramatic & flowing & the beat is addictive.

Their vocals are amazing period but with this song, they are no joke! Roi (totally wrecking me with those high notes) & Seulchan are i n c r e d i b l e vocalists & I cannot wait to hear more of them! Boun, Zeth (he’s got a “roundness” to his voice that has me melting), & Hyun all have sweet vocals but yet there’s strength in that sweetness! (Tbh, I’d love for the 3 of them to be a subunit & release a ballad!!) G.I & Woojin complement each other SO well. G.I’s delivery & unique high tone matches Woojin’s growly, deep tone beautifully.

Truly an underrated bop on this album! I feel like the classic boyband/old-school Kpop sound is coming back & I am SO here for that!! Zeth, Seulchan, & Boun really shine in this song & I love their blend of vocals.

Retro with a bit of old-school Kpop + a splash of classic boyband = I love!! It’s not super boppy but it has a techno-ish beat with great vocals.

I always love when groups include the instrumental version of their title track. It really helps you appreciate the music behind the stage performances & vocals.
