The young person who e-mailed last night, e-mailed again. Once more, they requested a private response, which I sent. But, I thought a lot of young LGBTQ people may be going through the same thing, so I'm posting part of the e-mail (name removed), and my response.

I'm sorry about your family. I hope you have a bunch of friends -- or at least a few good ones -- who love you for who you are.
While I don't know any Bible verses that speak specifically about rejection of a gay child, there are plenty that talk about love.
All I can tell you is be who you are! If people call you different, know that is a good thing. We're NOT all the same. We're not supposed to be the same. If we were, the world would be pretty boring. You are not broken. You are not evil.
