What Are You Really Afraid Of?

@whatareyoureallyafraidof / whatareyoureallyafraidof.tumblr.com

The truth is, the only people who affect the “sanctity” of your marriage are you and your spouse. The couple next door — whatever their gender composition — doesn’t change your commitment. And, couples across the street, across town, or across the country have absolutely no control over the strength and validity of your marriage! So, what are you really afraid of? PS: Sometimes, this blog is NSFW. Proceed with caution. ;-)

Just a thought...

  Any politician who opposes allowing 10,000 Syrian refugees (that's 10,000 human beings fleeing an absolute disaster at home) into the United States should have to provide a detailed chart showing their Native American lineage going back at least as far as the Mayflower.   See, we're all (well, the overwhelming majority) immigrants -- or the descendants of immigrants. And, as each new wave of people has sought these shores -- whether to escape war, or famine, or to seek economic opportunities -- the previous waves sought to block them, or discriminated against them.   On the pedestal of The Statue of Liberty -- the first thing so many immigrants to America saw -- is a poem by Emma Lazarus. It reads (in part):   "Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free, The wretched refuse of your teeming shore. Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me, I lift my lamp beside the golden door!"   That door must remain open. - Bud Koenemund
