Noooooooooo...
My bracket is filled out. Let's go Rangers! :-)
Kids were being hurt! University officials knew about it, and did nothing! And, Tom Corbett (as Attorney General) may have delayed the investigation so as not to hurt his run for Governor. Now, he wants to complain because some of the $60 million fine will go to help children in other states?! Shut the f*** up, sit down, and take your punishment! Just for this, the NCAA should come back and drop the "death penalty" on Penn State!
Penn State Sanctions
By Bud Koenemund I know this story doesn't pertain to equality, but it's something that needs to be said. - Bud (24 July 2012) ------------------------------------------------------------------- I've heard a lot of people (most of them here in Pennsylvania, where Penn State football is worshipped, and Joe Paterno was a minor diety) complaining the sanctions imposed by the NCAA are unfair to the players and students of Penn State. (If you haven't heard, read about the penalties here: http://www.nytimes.com/2012/07/24/sports/ncaafootball/penn-state-penalties-include-60-million-fine-and-bowl-ban.html?_r=3&emc=na) I agree that it's terrible for the players and the students of Penn State. But, the responsiblility for this does not belong to one man. Yes, Jerry Sandusky abused the children. He alone is physically responsible for the devastation visited upon the souls of those children. (And, when I say "devastation" I know of what I speak.) But, as shown in the Freeh report, Joe Paterno and various members of the school's administration knew what was going on. THEY KNEW! They knew for more than a decade and they did not stop it. Penn State could have limited the number of victims in this case and they failed to act. Not only did they fail to stop Sandusky, they covered up for him so their precious football program wouldn't be harmed. They traded protecting children for football! To me, the penalty wasn't harsh enough.
