im doing a lydia’s camera roll edit right now and going through pics i think she’d have on her phone and i’ve developed a new headcanon whilst doing so which is that beetlejuice cant actually be photographed but not in the same way as the maitlands, who most of the time dont show up at all or are just weird white mists - instead he ends up looking like one of those sleep paralysis demons, even sometimes distorting the camera and things surrounding him in the photo basically something like this:

him and lydia try everything they can to get him to show up on film, to no avail. it ends up with her friends looking through her camera roll the next day and getting freaked out at all the creepy shadow guy images she has, while she’s just there like “oh that’s just my uncle. he’s eccentric”

oooh man i wish i could animate cuz i have this clear idea in my mind of him standing in her room, ‘talking’ to the camera but his voice is weirdly muffled and coming out in strange pitches and languages, and his form is constantly moving almost - like sometimes you think you can make out a face and then it seems to melt into some sickly look that makes you wanna look anywhere but directly at him. and when he moves i had the image of like those ruined polaroids you know? where there are blotches of black or melting colors blocking out the whole video and moving - and if hes talking while moving its like it just cuts out completely, leaving this uncomfortable ringing silence in your ear until he stops moving and the muffled audio comes back, with him closer to the camera and form giving you so much anxiety that you have to look away finally before it drives you literally insane.

also an extra but i think lydia absolutely would send the video to like. buzzfeed unsolved or nukes top 5 and beetlejuice would be personally offended at every skeptic that has something to say about it

I love how you take the time to set the stage, the faint sprinkle of looming stars, chirring crickets, a chill wind. 😫👌 The insight into why a dead demon is smoking. I never thought about this and I LOVE IT.

Hey guys! I’m not dead! :D Sorry it’s been so long since I posted anything, but you know how it is, work & such, blah blah blah. ANYway, I was doodling the other day trying to come up with my own spin on the toon Beetlejuice characters, so I wanted to share those sketches with you. (btw, if you follow me on twitter &/or instagram, you’ve already seen these.) I still need to do a few more characters, especially Lydia, but here’s these guys in the meantime.

I uh….I also drew a little something for myself….but I can’t post it on tumblr, so uh….here’s a sneak peek.
