ONE CRITICAL ROLE SCENE PER EPISODE C2E7: Hush

I finished my rewatch/relisten of the Vox Machina campaign in mid-December (although I recently re-embarked on the second half of the Chroma Conclave arc hoping season 3 of TLVOM will be announced (released?? 🤞) by the time I reach "A Bard's Lament"). Predictably, I bawled, AGAIN, but by then I'd already been scribbling and sketching ideas for this for... a couple of weeks? Hence the little WIP preview last month.

I'll never shut up about this moment. It's just as beautiful as it's heartbreaking, in- and off-game, especially taking into account all the context of characters/people involved.

Also, bonus, because after I finished sketching that 6th frame I thought a hug was needed.

The Mighty Nein Rewatch (45/∞) Episode 9: Steam and Conversation

Some times I sit down and remember that Critical Role has a scene where a woman has to introduce herself, and- 

1) instead of giving the fake name her friends know her by, decides to give an even faker name, then-

2) panics and blurts out part of her real name instead, not realizing that- 

3) the fragment of her real, secret name she just blurted is also the real, secret name of her best friend, who hasn’t heard his old name in 5 years and-

4) all of this was entirely improved, with neither player knowing the other’s characters real names or even that they where using fake names to begin with

Sam Riegel, playing Nott the Brave, who is actually Veth Brenatto, gives out Bren as a fake name. (He also gives out Veth, his real name, and Otto as other “fake” names using part of Veth’s full real name. )

Liam O’Brian, Sam Riegel’s best bud, is playing Caleb Widogast, actually Bren Ermendrud.

Neither knows they each have secret names. Liam thinks Sam somehow knows his backstory. Sam is thinking he is hilarious for giving his secret real name out as a faker name.

It is amazing.

I’m obsessed with how absolutely fucking chaotic and adorable Sam and Ashley are in every campaign. I live for their dynamic.

Pikelan, aka the most chaotic couple in Vox Machina: the awkward proposal, the letter, so much clutch healing in the midst of battles, realization of feelings after being far apart from each other but so angry once reunited,  THE DRUNK CALL, the heartWRENCHING resurrection ritual with the poem, truly one of the most underrated romance arcs.

Yasha and Veth: literally the second most chaotic dynamic after the Chaos Crew themselves, the bit about Yasha and Veth being telepathically connected, Veth interfering in Yasha and Beau’s romance as jokes but being so encouraging actually and honestly trying to make Yasha feel at home with the Nein. Not to mention the star of the show: “I killed my family, I’ll throw you off a bridge. I’m learning how to people.” Unparalleled interaction.

And now FCG and Fearne: with Fearne causing FCG to question his own programming about souls and dreams and being so kind to them, FCG just telling “I like you so much”, and just the general chaos. I can’t WAIT to see what’s next.

The theory "FCG killed all their friends" is literally only based off of the fact that nobody in the Critical Role Fandom (or cast) trust Sam Riegel after the last 5 years of twist related shenanigans, and I think that's beautiful

I sometimes put in my earring and I have conversations with Scanlan and I know he can’t hear. Well, who talks back? Nobody.
