You know what I’m still mad about?

The amount of people who got all up in arms and aggressive and shit about people RPing or writing fanfic about Hamilton the musical.

Like, I guarantee you that the VAST MAJORITY of people were not under the impression that they were in any way writing about the ACTUAL HISTORICAL FIGURES, they were writing about the FICTIONALIZED VERSIONS of those figures as they were presented in the musical.  Like, did that sometimes lead to an interest in the ACTUAL historical figure? Yes, obviously.  Did people sometimes draw from the historical figure’s known story to flesh out the fictionalized version? Sure, why not?

But these people were WELL FUCKING AWARE that they were writing about FICTIONAL VERSIONS of historical characters.  Like, they were writing a slightly less fantastical version of Leonardo da Vinci from Assassin’s Creed.  Sure, it’s closer to historical truth, but it’s still fictionalized for the sake of telling a story.  THAT IS OKAY.  AND IT IS OKAY TO TREAT IT AS A FANDOM.

I’m still angry about people trying to refuse to acknowledge the fictionalization of the characters when it comes to the fandom interaction with the story.  “Oh they like Jefferson the fictional character, they must stan Jefferson the ACTUAL HISTORICAL PERSON” like, no??? let people engage in fictional shit for fuck’s sake!

An even earlier version of Say No To This which includes Angelica and Eliza singing part of Helpless and Satisfied.

This is such a heartbreaking version. His “hey” really hits you in a different way, Eliza and Angelica’s appearance is perfect, his “nobody needs to know” is soo… broken.

And his “yes"s in this one… do things to me. Um. Whoa.

THANKS

In the rewind in the broadway song “Satisfied”, you can hear Eliza singing “Helpless” in the background connecting it to the previous song. However, in the Off-Broadway version, John Laurens (the soldier in war and rumored lover of A.Ham introduced in Aaron Burr, Sir) sings “Helpless” in the rewind instead. This can be viewed as he was helpless for Hamilton as well (read the letters!) and such because he couldn’t stop the marriage of Alexander and Eliza.

DONT TOUCH ME IM NOT OKAY

finally! after months of editing (that probably could have been done in days if I weren’t so lazy) this is finally done! i had this idea right after i was done playing the original trilogy, and I just HAD to do it. i had to get familiar with this style of editing, but it was all worth it. i’m actually unbelievably proud of this video. i really hope you like it!

I have made a discovery

Other people might already have realised this, like, a long time ago, but I want to document this moment anyways:

A couple of weeks ago probably, I was listening to Hamilton, as one does, and noticed during the first song that they say the word “ten” two times in just that song (”the ten dollar founding father” and “when he was ten”), and thought absent-mindedly “hmm, i wonder how many times the say ten in the whole musical”, because, you know, he’s the “ten dollar founding father”, so ten is sort of an iconic number if we’re talking Hamilton right? And I knew already, at the top of my head, that they say ten at least a couple more times throughout the musical, in songs like, you know, Ten Duel Commandments, and other times they’re dueling... Could it be... that they say “ten” an iconic number of times in the musical..? Then I carried on listening to the song and forgot about it all.

Fast forward to today, like a couple of hours ago. I’m listening to Hamilton, again, as one does, and remember suddenly my theory about the tens. I tried googling it, to no avail. I was getting really curious now tho, so I thought “am I really going to count how many times they say “ten” in Hamilton myself?”, and since I didn’t have much else to do at the time, except for the fact that I already should have gone to sleep a while ago, I decided that yes, I am really going to do that. And well, according to my tally (nothing but the songs on the album included), they say “ten” two times in Alexander Hamilton, three in Ten Duel Commandments, one in Yorktown (well, they say "tens of thousands", which I counted since “tens” in that sentence in essence has the same meaning as "ten"), two in Blow Us All Away, and two in The World Was Wide Enough. Which summed up is.. ten times. Idk what to say. We have ten Hamiltons in Hamilton (get it?? because a 10 dollar bill can be called a Hamilton??). My biggest question is, was it intentional? Because if it was... I mean, it’s not the hardest thing to accomplish probably but,, Lin-Manuel Miranda everybody. (If it wasn’t, that’s in a way even cooler tho?) What gets me is probably not just this easter egg, but the fact that there’s so many things in Hamilton to discover I feel like you wouldn’t be able to count them all (lol pun not intended).

tldr (seriously this post is Too long i could’ve just written this, instead i felt the need to tell a whole ass story around it): i just discovered that they say “ten” ten times in Hamilton, and i think that’s cool, and im a bit proud of myself for doing that lol.
