genuinely though, I love lieve’tel just from a symbolic perspective. DEATH is patient, DEATH is kind. death isn’t going to answer any of your questions about “when” or “why” to your satisfaction even though you have them. cryptic motherfucker. she’ll wait thirty years with your name on her lips and then move on to the next beautiful soul—but that doesn’t mean she’s forgotten you. you’re still there in the back of her mind. death comforts those left behind to the best of her weak ability and does not mind as they rage at her. death is soft-spoken and swift to strike and her hands and cold and gentle. when you see her face, death is beautiful. best servant of the raven queen. knocking it out of the park with this one, mr. o’brien.

I think the two most obvious foils for Ludinus Da'leth across all of Critical Role are Essek and Keyleth, which is both fascinating given how different those two characters are from each other (Essek being a foil in terms of isolation, single-mindedness, harm in the name of ambition, knowledge, and other such wizard themes; Keyleth being a foil in terms of people who have lost something at a young age to the gods and bear resentment for it, political leadership, belief that the world belongs to mortalkind, and longevity) but also it's extremely funny that they both are the partners of Liam's character.

I want to take a moment to appreciate how incredibly fucking funny Matt Mercer was for having Vox Machina travel to the outskirts of Bazzoxan and then ending the episode there, leaving us to speculate for two whole weeks on if Verin would finally be making an actual appearance in a campaign, only to have VM return to Vasselheim without a wild Verin encounter, AND THEN not only have him show up in Vasselheim but have him show up WITH ESSEK and give us the canon Thelyss Bros interaction we've been dreaming of for nearly five years
