Hot take but... I don't want Destiel to happen in The Winchesters. (don't get me wrong, I want it so so so so much) The show is about these new characters and they are doing such a wonderful job and I want them to have their own chance to shine. I don't want them to just be a vehicle for Destiel to happen. These kids deserve better.
(I low key feel that way about Misha being used to market GK with the kids pushed to the background, but that's just marketing, because he's the established name and brings a large fanbase. So that helps. )
I agree. Again using Destiel to market the four kids in TW is not a bad choice. It's good for the kids as far as Destiel doesn't steal TW thunder which it will if Destiel goes canon in TW.
What I feel like should happen is, TW could be the stepping stone for the confession to be reciprocated. They could explore further and go for canon Destiel in the revival. But TW can definitely be used without stealing the spotlight from the kids.
A tough line to walk there for Ackles!
