i cannot count on my fingers how many times I have reread voluntary apnea it is soo good ah one of my comfort fics and also literally every other stydia fic you've ever posted *chef's kiss* because I can think of maybe around 3 writers I find as good as you on ao3

wait i do have a q; do you post your writing anywhere else rn? or do you plan on writing more and posting on ao3 maybe?

awww THANK YOU <3 i love that fic so much, it's one of my favourite ones i've ever written.

Hi, fan of your writing with a quick question. Would you ever consider posting some of your older work (like some of your old justice league fics) to ao3? Just curious!

many years ago, i did consider doing that bc my brain likes Consistency.. but i literally don't have copies of those old fics anywhere except on ff.net. i think i typed them directly into the website, like using it as a word processor lmao. and as far as i know there's no way to download them off of there. so if ff.net goes down, all my old stuff goes down with it lmao

omggg thank you bb!! some of my fav stuff i've written is for stydia, so that makes me happy to hear!! :')

Hey so, I hope this isn't annoying but I'm a fic writer who is trying to be even 5% as good as you are and I was wondering if you have any tips for what kinds of outlining/planning you do? Please ignore this if it's annoying haha

definitely not annoying! i'm not really one to hand out prescriptive writing advice because i do believe that everyone has their own process, but i can tell you what has worked for me with respect to outlining/planning. the amount of planning i do really varies from story to story. it might be a little, it might be a lot, but the common theme is: i usually like to know where the story starts, where it ends, and a small handful of the most important, game changing plot points in between (and usually i have a sense of the romance arc as well, and how it is intertwined with the plot). that way, i always have something to write towards every 10k words or so. hit one big plot point, then start building towards the next.

the in between, i figure out as i go along and mostly during revision. my plots are full of holes in a first draft, tbh. but figuring that out is the fun part. also the frustrating part. worth it in the end, though, because often the stuff i come up with on the fly ends up being some of my favourite parts of the story.

okk wait this is the same anon that asked for the outlining/planning tips and i just found your writing tips post and the FONTS. GAME CHANGER. i changed my font to cambria and lemme tell you i feel like a professional novel writer rn i'm unstoppable thank you so much queen <3 literally never would've thought of that myself.

omg!! glad you found it helpful! and yeah, i switch the fonts liberally to this day. it helps SO much. i usually use one font to write first drafts and then constantly change the font as i revise, lmao.

(for those interested--i dug out the writing tips post anon is talking about!)

Honey i just read Survivors guilt and wow you're amazing at writing. The way you build up this whole world, and the stories, and the characters with just WORDS. Are you planning on writing any original books? Cause i would die to read it

YOU ARE TOO SWEEET!! Survivor's Guilt was really the fic that made me think I could do this writing thing. And that's because people like yourself went out of their way to tell me how much they loved it and to encourage me to keep writing. Thank you! It still means the world, 5 years later.
