And lastly, to answer your question:

I imagine their reunion would start out pretty normal - the brothers coming across Branch by chance, and being all, "hey Bitty B, so good to see you, how have you been", and Branch (who they caught when he wasn't wearing his crown or cape) would just shrug, "eh, not too much, building, learning to fit in with the village, finally happy, etc..."

He'd mention his wife Poppy (cue brotherly teasing, especially from JD and Bruce), and talk about her casually. Then, some random troll would yell out, "King Branch! You're needed over here!" "Okay, I'll be right there."

He'd turn to find his four brothers staring slack-jawed at him. JD stammers, "Um, wait... what did they just call you?"

Branch shrugs again with half a smirk. "Uh, yeah. My wife is... Queen Poppy."

JD grabs Branch roughly by the shoulders. "You coulda led with that!! You're the flipping KING?!"

Bruce is in awe. "Wow. Our baby brother is leader of Troll Village."

Floyd is smiling proudly at his beloved little brother, his pale pink eyes brimming with tears.

"'Queen Poppy'... huh, funny," Clay ponders. "My best friend Viva had a little sis named Princess Pop -- waaaaait..."

Later, after intros are complete:

Poppy: "Branch! How come you never told me you have brothers?!"

Branch: "Well how come you never told me you have a sister?"

Poppy: "Pfft, don't be silly! I don't have a sister! Right, Dad?"

Peppy: "Uhhhhhh... um... Surprise?"

Poppy: "DAAAAD!!"

Main Messages from Trolls Band Together

2. Family doesn't have to mean blood: Poppy at first says Bridget is 'like' a sister, then after hanging out with Viva she realizes her and Bridget act like sisters, then Poppy ends with referring to Bridget as her second sister.

Also, Poppy and Viva are included in the family harmony and the family song at the end, yet they are not related to Brozone. Poppy and Branch are only dating, not married - but he and Poppy have such a strong connection and care about / support each other so much, that she and her sister are already part of Branch's family.

3. Just because someone is related to you doesn't mean they're allowed to treat you badly.

And lastly, the most underrated and perhaps most important lesson in this movie:

4. Bad behaviour needs to be punished

I figured Velvet and Veneer would get off easy, the usual kid's movie ending where the villains suddenly transform into good people and everyone loves them now, or at best the villains run away never to be seen again.

Instead, we see Veneer with a change of heart, but not Velvet. We saw right from the beginning that Velvet is the true villain, and Veneer is half-heartedly going along with it because she's his sister so he feels he has to support her.

Then Velvet rightfully gets arrested, but so does Veneer - even though he realizes he was wrong, he still did bad things as Crimp pointed out, and should be punished. A quote from the Land Before Time movies, movie #7, describes this perfectly: "He may be sorry, but it doesn't change what he did, and he must be responsible for that. We must all be accountable for our actions."

It's SO nice to see this lesson. Too often characters commit terrible crimes and get nothing more than 'that wasn't nice, please be nicer', 'okay, I will', and then the bad stuff is just 'oh well'. And this happens way too much in real life too - people get away with anything because 'punishment is mean'. No, it's not, it teaches people right from wrong, and/or stops bad people from continuing to hurt innocent people. Like Veneer, some people can change. But like Velvet, some people are just evil.

I will never get over how lovingly she caresses his hand in this scene💕. And his shy little smile, her sincere and reassuring words (which I will get into more in another post)

Also, when he hugs her, he then shifts his hands a bit to hold her tighter.🥰

Can we just take a moment to appreciate the Broppy kiss?

Honestly, I was expecting just an almost kiss or a quick peck like in Holiday in Harmony, so this was a very pleasant surprise.

The way she grabs his vest and pulls him closer is what I always envisioned but never thought it would happen in canon. It's so darn cute, and so them. And the way Branch melts into the kiss, then tenderly holds her hands (and we all know how important hand touches are with these two!).

In the 2nd&3rd pictures showing them on the big screen, if you compare the two, you see subtle differences of them shifting in closer.

And if you compare the first and 4th photos, their lips have clearly changed, especially Poppy's - again, it was no split-second half-hearted kiss.

Then the way Poppy smiles so lovingly at him afterward and glances down at his lips more than once...

I'm happy🥰

P.S. Also, the ending of the kiss played in reverse is super cute and provides a second Broppy kiss perspective!! Check out the gif here:

So, I experienced some deju vu during this scene in Trolls Band Together:

John Dory grabs his backpack, says he's leaving (I'm done, YOLO, etc.), and then the last thing he says is "Goodbye Forever!", followed by Branch's distraught face, and the next thing Branch knows, all his brothers have left him and he never sees them again.

I was trying to figure out why that little snippet stuck with me, then it hit me:

Trolls Holiday in Harmony, when Branch is trying to figure out a gift for Poppy. He's worried about doing the wrong thing, disappointing her or freaking her out, and says "I CAN'T let that happen". He illustrates his point with Poppy packing a suitcase, and what does she say right before she runs off?

Really brings his abandonment issues into the light😢

I've seen a few comments of people being annoyed when Branch said to Poppy "aren't you going to leave me anyway", but they clearly don't understand how trauma affects people's mental and emotional state.

He knows Poppy loves him and doesn't actually believe she'd leave, but after a lifetime of being alone, even though he's happy and loved now, there's still that subconscious fear that he'll end up alone again. Poppy means everything to him, and he can't bear the thought of losing her too, especially as a result of something he's done (his grandma died to save him, and he believed his brothers leaving was his fault because he 'ruined everything' at the concert).

Sometimes this results in Branch trying to push Poppy away, which seems conflicting, yes, but again: trauma messes with your mind. He was already heartbroken and angry at his brothers, so he wasn't thinking clearly and blurted out his hidden main fear.

And when he says "everyone else [leaves me]" I hear "everyone in my life has left me so I must deserve to be alone, so you might as well leave me too."

And that's probably why Branch was so hesitant to be open with Poppy - 1. I might scare her away, and 2. why bother expressing my feelings to someone when I'll likely just lose them anyway. Plus he's still getting used to having someone to confide to in his life. Keeping emotions bottled up for years is a hard habit to get out of.
