My favorite thing about Abbott is we see how each character honestly and truly loves the kids. I love how Ava may appear nonchalant but ANYTIME she’s interacting with the kids she lights up and addressing them as an individual. To her, they’re not just students, they’re her peers.

Actually… she IS a telescope. And she HAS FOUND her star: Jack Robinson! And, to her, his light shines so bright that she always finds him. She’s the one who always shows up at his crime scenes. She has also found him when he was captured by Foyle. And she found him in England, at her memorial service and then at his boarding house. I don’t know if the creators meant it to be that way, but the telescope line is genius all of a sudden.
