I desperately wish people would start actually reading the AO3's TOS before confidently making 'user guides' to the AO3 that are just blatantly, flatly wrong.

Yes the AO3 has banned content. They do not allow anything that's illegal under US law - though US law, importantly, does not ban fictional depictions of things - and they do not allow any commercial content. That includes your ko-fi link, or mentions that you do fic commissions. If you do post fic commissions to AO3 and want to mention the commissioner, the fic is a 'request' from the commissioner. This protects the AO3 and you from copyright law.

No the AO3 is not 'a creative fanfiction archive'. It is a fandom archive. Your meta, insights, and theories are absolutely welcome and encouraged there. AO3 also encourages you to post other types of fanworks, like fan videos, podfics, and art, but unfortunately isn't able to natively host those like it does text, so fic has kind of become what it's known for. That absolutely does not mean that other types of fanwork aren't allowed, or are discouraged by the site culture! Anybody who tells you otherwise is just plain wrong!

kamala lost because people didn't show up to the polls and vote for her for a wide array of reasons. and yes, it's infuriating and heartbreaking that other people don't see the threat that many of us do.

but apathy or ignorance isn't hate. we can feel angry or disappointed that people didn't show up, but those people also don't believe in donald trump enough to vote for him, and we can work from that. in fact, it appears that at least about 2 million people also changed their minds, at least enough to not turn up at the polls for him again.

no matter what the fuck they wanna say, maga is not growing. they have power in the government now, and it's scary, and we have hard work ahead of us to stop them in whatever ways we can, but i just wanted to take a moment to point out that the country has not gotten more hateful or more supportive of their bigotry, no matter what the fuck they wanna say. there's not more of them. they just feel empowered to get louder.

They don't win by convincing people they're right. They win by convincing the people who disagree with them to stay home, or by forcing them not to vote through suppression tactics.

Like I dunno something about two old white lady librarians getting fussy with a young black guy for ‘sleeping’ in a chair (he’s not sleeping he’s quietly watching videos, their problem isn’t even the audio its him ‘sleeping’) sets me off internally

I was talking to my mom about it like ‘He wasn’t even snoring or anything I don’t get what the big deal is’

“Well if they let normal people sleep in there then they’d have to let homeless people pretend to be interested in the books and sleep in there too and that would cause issues.”

“…how would it cause issues?”

“Well because they’re a library, not a shelter. It’d cause issues.”

I hadnt slept in 48 hours once but had to wait for someone and I kept dozing off, while sitting on the floor mind you, there wasn't any furniture. They knew I was waiting for a ride and hadnt slept and were still just like "sorry :c we can't allow sleeping" and seriously had a security guard stand next to me to keep waking me up, who suggested I just make myself stand rather than sit.

Yes this is a hardcore rule across America and yes it is entirely because they're afraid if anyone is allowed to fall asleep for even minutes in a public place it will open some floodgate of people coming in entirely just to sleep, which would only happen if, say, it was one of the only public places without this batshit rule. If everywhere just lets people rest then nobody would risk that "problem" now would they???

Anyway I think it should actually be standard to have designated public sleeping rooms the way there's public bathrooms and the law should require both of those (unlocked) distributed evenly throughout all cities.

To any whiny issue anyone wants to raise about that like oh people will do drugs in them or they'll get dirty and gross my response is that if you've been living fine without their existence, then they arent for you anyway and none of your damn business.

My fucking cat has figured out how to gently dig his claws into my eyelid and pull my eyes open while I'm sleeping. He does this. It does not hurt. He is remarkably precise and gentle. I however am asleep when it happens and do not appreciate being clockwork oranged by a needy clingy goddamn animal who thinks he needs attention.

I would like to clarify that this animal self feeds and is not being denied breakfast by my sleeping in. He doesn't do this to anyone else. Everyone else simply gets increasingly invasive headbutts and even thats a fairly rare occurence. This fucking cat needs to cuddle with me specifically, And he is decided that the best way to do it is to gently shove his claws underneath my eyelashes and pull. There is no way I can train him out of this because believe it or not shoving your fingers in somebody's eyes to wake them up has the desired reaction.

We have come to a compromise. One that neatly illustrates the reason I'm not wearing an eyemask.

If I have a hair tie on my wrist, my darling sweet baby boy, love of my life and apple of my eye, can gingerly dig his teeth underneath and grab it in his mouth and then back up. and pull. And Snap the hell out of me with the elastic. Again, he is very gentle and precise, there are never teeth touching my skin. This is not a fluke, he managed this several times in various circumstances and positions.

This is worse than a toddler. We are approaching diabolical machinations hitherto undreamt of by domestic felines.
