I've seen a few of these before, but it doesn't hurt to make more. Especially when we're seeing a lot of radfem rhetoric popping up in LGBT spaces from people who might not know better.

the idea that restrooms, locker rooms, etc need to be single-sex spaces in order for women to be safe is patriarchy's way of signalling to men & boys that society doesn't expect them to behave themselves around women. it is directly antifeminist. it would be antifeminist even if trans people did not exist. a feminist society would demand that women should be safe in all spaces even when there are men there.

iirc there’s an african language that has no gendered pronouns, which is why people who speak it as a first language will sometimes use gendered pronouns interchangeably when speaking english bc to them they all mean the same thing. i think there’s a scandinavian language that does this too.

It's really simple. If you're born with a vagina and you naturally have elevated testosterone levels, you're a man. If you have a vagina and you take testosterone, you're a woman. The notes really help my point here; transphobia and TERFism really are so disconnected from what actual real life women are like. Not only are real life women fat and greasy and a multitude of other "unappealing" things, cis women are those things because they are humans who have a body. Cis and trans women who are fat and greasy are experiencing the phenomenon of being alive. Anonymous hate like this really make it clear that it's not about "protecting cis women", it's about tearing down people for having undesirable traits.

I live with three cis women who have ten years on me minimum and I guarantee we have all experienced what this anon says makes me non-passing. But it's not about passing, it's about feeling good! And if feeling good means that I look obese and greasy, then so be it. I'm happier than I've ever been and I'm keeping it that way >:]
