girl seize the means of production!
Oversimplified theory of politics:
Theocracy: What if the people who know our regional religion best were in charge of everything? God would never allow frauds and hypocrites to take positions of power.
Feudal Caste System: One tribe of people got to be in charge of everything, another tribe was the slaves, and everyone else was between these two extremes.
Imperialism: Let us, as a society, go to other lands and steal stuff and people that will (probably) benefit everyone back home. And if people try to stop us, we kill them.
Democracy: What if the people who promised the nicest things to the most number of people were put in charge, by the people? Surely, this will not result in a new caste of incompetent rulers.
Capitalism: What if the people who were best at imperialism got to be in charge, rather than because they were in the ruling tribe? Surely this will not result in a new incompetent ruling caste.
Anarchism: The tribes thing would have worked if some tribes hadn't taken charge. Let's try that again but we discourage the accumulation of power.
Communism: What if we did Imperialism to the rich people in our own country? Surely, that would fix our problems and not result in a new ruling caste.
Fascism: What if we did Imperialism to poor people, people we don't like, and ethnic minorities everywhere? Surely, that would fix our problems because those people are actually secretly rich so we can steal their treasure and use it to pay for everything.
people will really look at disco elysium and say it’s apolitical because it mocks/criticizes all the political ideologies in the game. The game where the communist questline is the most hopeful end and the fascist one is the most desolate and destructive
the end of the fascist quest: your life and the city where you live are broken and unfixable. everything is shit (verbatim!). have a fantasy where you bomb everything and start over, it’s the only way to fix things. things will never return to your fantasy of what they once were.
the end of the capitalist quest: “the grind” is a fucking joke. at its core, capitalism steals from the poor and gives to the rich. in its later states, capitalism provides no upward mobility for anyone other than the rich. you will die a poor man.
the end of the centrist quest: the upper classes that rule the world will do anything to keep their power over you. you are a coward and a liar if you believe centrism is the correct choice in any matter.
the end of the communist quest: keep trying. build a better life from what you have. as long as you have the will to try again, you have the means to make the world a better place to exist. try again and it will be worth it. do it for everyone you love and for yourself.
Conservatives warned us... but we didn't listen
CYBERMARX HAS COME! AND HE HAS THE TRANSGENDERIFICATION BEAM!
At the time of reblogging this only has 4 notes. That is unacceptable.
being a marxist is so boring like there’s no mystery left. you’ll investigate a concerning issue affecting our society and you’re like ‘well it’s probably because the capitalists are underpaying and overworking their workers’ and then 9 times out of 10 the answer is the capitalists are underpaying and overworking their workers
you know i spend waaay to much time on social media and let me say this: this dysphoria shit is contagious. i am a healthy grown woman and as much as i despise gendies' ideology i still look in the mirror sometimes, thinking "my boobs do kinda look weird, don't they" because i see so many people hating their bodies every. single. day.
so be safe. cultivate your sense of self. don't let anyone or anything convince you something is wrong with you.
No, no it’s not, that’s clinically not fucking true in any sense and “Gendies” makes you all sound like pedos looking to molest trans kids.
what's not true? that i personally feel how social media affects the way i feel about myself and my body?
also the "pedos" part, why was that your first association? just wondering.
Because it’s not clinically how trans factors work.
This is a YOU failing not a trans thing.
Oh it’s not my first association terfs are that creepy with people this just outs that fact even more. It sounds like age play trash and well... there you go.
"this is you failing not a trans thing"
that's exactly my point though?
please stop with the baseless pedo accusations. you're clearly just trying to demonize people.
I am, I absolutely am and it still fits the word use.
I’m glad we see eye to eye on leaving trans people out of this.
As a Transhumanist I think it’s perfectly fine for people to want to alter their bodies in order to make their lives better. We should reject the Bioconservative notion that every human body is a perfectly functional mechanism. That kind of thinking leads to discrimination against the physically disadvantaged for failing to live up to the collective standard. It can also justify denying the disadvantaged from getting medical assistance. Here’s a set of quotes from an outraged imaginary person that hopefully illustrates the slippery slope of being opposed to bodily autonomy:
- Anti-Cosmetic: “How dare you get a boob job, I think you look perfectly fine!“
- Anti-Trans: “How dare you get gender confirmation treatments, you are perfectly fine and it’s the internet making you think otherwise!“
- Anti-Feminist: “How dare you get an abortion, I think your pregnancy is going to be fine and you’re just trying to shirk your responsibility as a soon-to-be-mother!“
- Anti-Modern Medicine: “How dare you get cataract surgery, I think you can see perfectly fine and are just faking it!”
So if you want a boob job, go for it! [God/Evolution/Mother Gaia] is not going to care about you mutilating your body because it’s already twisted our species into uncomfortable shapes. Our bodies were never meant to walk upright, that’s why we have hip problems.
@wealmostaneckbeard oh i totally agree. although i was talking more about how my perception of myself is negatively affected by social media, you are making a very good point.
Good, glad we’re in agreement, also I’d like to apologize for @lostelvenqueen. She’s ordinarily more eloquent and won’t accuse TERF vocab users of pedophilia right off the bat. And yes, I know TERF is a slur and that you’re just Gender Critical.
If what I’ve just written is insulting to you then buckle up. I’m telling you this like a doctor telling a patient that their benign lump is actually a cause for concern:
You could’ve condemned the unholy trifecta of Diet Foods, Cosmetics, and Social Media industries for promoting dysphoria in order to increase usage of their own products. Instead you’ve conflated transgender expressions of dysmorphia with the Rainbow Capitalist systems that give Transfolk some visibility in exchange for shilling corporate brands. That’s because you’re too far down the Gender Critical Rabbit Hole to see it’s a fundamentally exploitive relationship. If you were alive back in the 1930′s you’d be blaming jazz musicians for being paid promoters of menthol cigarettes to black people instead of blaming the Phillip Morris tobacco executives signing the checks. Phillip Morris wasn’t affected by Jim Crow laws but Louis Armstrong certainly was. Likewise Social Media Executives don’t care about what happens to feminists and queer people who out themselves on their websites (BTW, it’s cyberbullying by conservatives) just as long as they use the website/app and get their friends to use it too because The UserCount Must Grow.
You can’t blame people for trying to earn money in a capitalist system especially if they’re a victimized minority. Are minority people perfect? Hell no. Any population of sufficient size will have a percentage of professional criminals and sexual predators, but that’s no grounds to deny them civil rights and dignity. Except it is if you are a conservative looking for a justification to get rid of people you don’t like!
Believe it or not, everything I have written so far has been me trying to be intellectual. I tire of that and now I am going to be even more emotional:
You blaming “The Gendies” for your body image problems is like a man (any race) blaming black people for making him feeling unsafe: It’s valid to feel anxious but holy fucking shit you didn’t need to assign the reason to real people, oh my god, what the fuck is wrong with you!?! Jesus Fuck Me Christ, anxiety just happens for no reason, you know that, RIGHT?!? Let me guess, if we just got rid of the Gendies you’d just feel better? Are you sure you’re not a conservative?!
In conclusion, that’s probably why Lostelvenqueen lost her shit and called you a pedo.

Capitalism is dependent on faith that non-perishable currency can be used to purchase perishable goods. One must have faith during a crisis to see it through or else succumb to despair. The more afraid people are, the more desperate they are to have faith in something. So capitalism has a vested interest in promoting faith in itself while making the masses fear all other alternatives. Cryptocurrency is a perpetual crisis of faith that has been monetized.
Argument for a functional government
There are five kinds of disasters, listed in order from least caused by human activity to most:
- Cosmic: Solar Flares, Meteors
- Tectonic: Earthquakes, tsunamis, volcanos
- Atmospheric: Droughts, Floods, Hurricanes
- Biological: Disease, Invasive Species, ecological collapse
- Human-on-Human violence: war, genocide
In times of crisis, an organized government with widely distributed resource stockpiles and logistics infrastructure can help far more people than local individuals volunteering the bare minimum... Unless the people in charge are libertarian's who are opposed to "government wasting resources on undeserving people," then all of that stuff gets neglected and rotted away until a crisis befalls the people that the libertarians care about. Then there's a desperate scramble to resupply and rebuild capabilities until the crisis eventually passes. And then libertarians go back to cost cutting because "we don't need it anymore," and the cycle repeats itself. This applies to both the military and more importantly emergency services.
Lefty-anarchists have their own version of shortsightedness. They believe communities can help and defend their own most vulnerable without outside assistance. This makes sense if the community is wealthy and with favorable geography. But it doesn't make sense in poor and geographically isolated communities, especially after a disaster or against an organized enemy. Those victimized communities are typically abandoned and forgotten, it's people forced to join other communities at a disadvantage. Because of this form of Survivor Bias, wealthy anarchists could never imagine their own communities being destroyed and having to flee, so they insist that paying up to a big government is oppressive, despite the insurance it provides.
What do you think about the billions we pay farmers isnt that communism?
I think you might have messaged the wrong person, but I will share what little I know. When you look at who receives government farming subsidies it's large corporations like monsanto, that own farms, not farmers themselves. Pre-Green Revolution the government funds given out to farmers was meant to protect them from predatory banks loans in case of a bad harvest due to blight and bad weather. After the green revolution, crops became much more resilient thanks to genetic engineering, and corporations that invested in that engineering became the new predatory lending banks... And that brings me back to Monsanto. The old banks thought farmland was just another unstable commodity they could sell to traders. Modern Agri-Corps treat farmland like factories for products they can sell on the global market. And when sales don't line up with projections that's where the government steps in with subsidies. Government isn't keeping corporations afloat, it's padding the net worth of Executives and Investors in the hopes they keep their business at home and not overseas.
I'm not a libertarian and I hate Libertarianism. Because a libertarian/AnCap solution to this problem of the government giving money to large corporations would be to get rid of government. They believe that without the government to provide subsidies, Monsanto would collapse and be overtaken by smaller competitors. That is wrong, without government corporations would be able to use any and all means to eliminate competition and expand operations. They have done this since the Virginia Tobacco Company first bought slaves from Africa and stole land from Native Americans. Or when fruit companies set up their own Banana Republics in Central America. Or when the East India Trading Company starved millions to death in India.
I love how Tachanka a.k.a. Alexsandr Senaviev has been added to Arknights canon. He's just this old soviet soldier who outlived Russian communism. He's also a divorced dad (two grown up kids and an ex-wife) and his sister is a nurse. And now he gets isekaid to Terra where he just adopts things like originium slugs and the entire ursus student union. He's old school military so he's used to the idea of never seeing home again and is just trying to make the best of it.
I can't wait to see if he tries introducing the concept of Communism to the Ursus Empire. Those bear-folks desperately need some Marxist doctrine in their lives.
Little Nightmares Theory: Labor in Pale City
I haven't seen anyone on tumblr make a connection between the Porcelain Students, The Hospital Mannequins, The Viewers, and locations within The Pale City:
The Viewers spend all their days watching TV while their faces atrophy into nothingness. So how is the city still barely intact and who is maintaining it?
My theory is that magically animated dolls are laborers for the Viewers. Somewhere in the Pale City might be a place where the dolls are assembled and then brought to life. Once animated, the dolls are shipped off to The School where they are trained to do their jobs by The Teacher.
As these dolls get older, they replace parts of their bodies. When a mannequin becomes too broken to work, they get put into storage at the Hospital. They wait there until they can be repaired by The Doctor with organic or non-organic components. A patients recovery at the hospital can go faster if they cannibalize weaker patients for parts. The doctor is the only intact person left in the hospital because he is on the ceiling and none of the patient mannequins can reach him. It definitely seemed like the doctor decided who got to live and who cut up for parts...
It's possible that there is no doll factory and that the School and the Hospital are a part of a loop. When an animating spirit refuses to go back to work in an adult sized doll, it is transferred back into a student sized doll and retrained. These spirits are scared of being broken down further but they don't want to go back to work. Hence the Porcelain Students going crazy when they aren't being supervised.
Recycling these laboring spirits instead of making new ones is an interesting version of the Bourgeois trying to keep the Proletariat population in check. Perhaps the Dolls rebelled against the Viewers and so in retaliation the production of new doll parts ceased.
Mono and Six may have doomed the Dolls and the Viewers by trapping and burning the Doctor in that incinerator...
I ain’t a Communist but...
Hey Guys, here’s a bunch of loosely connected arguments against libertarianism. Do you whatever you want with them. If you are a libertarian, feel free to form arguments against these points. If you are NOT a libertarian feel free to find research supporting the following statements:
- Libertarianism is an existential threat to me and people like me. It assumes that everyone is a competent super-human who always act rationally and that the most personally profitable decision is also the most altruistic. Despite abundant evidence to the contrary, hard-core/troll libertarians believe this. They believe this so fervently that they accept and encourage the death of anyone who physically or psychologically can’t live up to their standards.
- I’m autistic. I believe that I shouldn’t starve to death because I have trouble interacting with people and possess shitty executive functions. I’m pretty sure I don’t deserve the death penalty because I lack marketable skills. I understand the fear that if everyone with a genetically induced disability makes babies then that means more disabled people will be born. But don’t worry, barely functional autistic people with offspring are the exception, not the rule. Unless arranged marriages and societal pressure to make kids are cranked back up to last century levels, we shouldn’t be worrying about that.
- I think a mix of free market capitalism and government law enforcement and assistance is a good idea. You should be able to receive a government/private loan to start your own small business and you have to operate it within agreed upon standards. If it succeeds, you should pay taxes and fees so that other people and small businesses can also receive support. If your business fails or you can’t work for any reason, you can receive the aid that you need for as long as you need. Not every needy person needs everything all the time. Society isn’t entirely composed of people looking for a hand-out.
- Under a pure capitalist economic system, you survive by working yourself to death or you get hand-outs from wealthy relatives that help kick start your business of charging people for money in order to continue living. If you are a dick head darwinist or a closeted-eugenicist, you probably think this is fine. But consider the following:Science, art, and progress was made by a bunch of guys (and gals) who had free time to fuck around with glasses, butterfly collecting, and cadavers. It wasn’t made by peasants tilling the fields or the owners of those fields.
- Libertarians want global civilization to become more like McDonalds without acknowledging that no one in the whole McSystem has any inclination to study stuff like cancer or astrophysics. If you are a corporate executive your attention is mostly on trying to find the cheapest way to produce products that the most number of people will consume. If you are a manager, you’re just trying to maintain quotas and keep work shifts fully staffed. And if you are an employee, you’re just trying to survive. Sure exceptions exist to these because the entire world isn’t McDonalds which is why you medical college students manning the registers and corporate grants for research projects. But again, Libertarians want the whole world to be more like Micky-Dees.
