A last post from Miyajima, Japan! We took what was pretty much the last possible cable car up into the mountains and then essentially ran/hiked up to the summit in our (my) inadvisable shoes, were we spent a few moments appreciating this incredible view before promptly running back to the final cable car down. 🚠

Parts of Japan are home to deer that aren’t quite domesticated but aren’t quite wild either, and spend their lives vaguely unbothered by human activity. This pair were also on Miyajima.

I realize that I haven’t posted to here in an EMBARRASSINGLY long time and I’m so sorry 😐 this blog has been collecting bot followers and in my constant battle of blocking them I somehow just stopped posting anything at all. I have been active on instagram though! I’m wayfar.ing over there.

This photo is from Japan 🇯🇵 where I was early last summer. This is the floating Torii of Itsukushima, on Miyajima Island. When the tide is in, it appears to bloom up out of the water.

Here’s a snap from Costa Rica, an alternate version of one of my favorite photos to date. These little mushrooms were a couple of centimeters tall at most, and their little friend was even smaller! Photo tip: don’t forget to think small! | ig: wayfar.ing

I thought I would share one more old photo from Guatemala, now that I’ve talked a little more at length about my trip and the current circumstances of the wonderful people of Antigua. This was a sweet stray doggo who followed us when we hiked one of Antigua’s volcanos (yes, I know.) enough time has passed that I don’t remember if the peak in this one is Fuego’s or not, but it was indeed active! I posted a lot of photos of beautiful Indian architecture and temples at the end of last year, but I wanted to show you a pretty spectacular place that I visited this year, right here in the US. This place, the BAPS temple in Robinson, New Jersey, is an architectural marvel, drawing on precise instructions written thousands of years ago. The main temple structure is made entirely of marble, replete with intricate sculptures and structures on every inch of stone. It’s actually housed inside a building to protect it from the wildly varied weather in central NJ (this past week it was 73 degrees one day and 33 degrees the very next day). It’s also free to visit and they even have video and audio guides available for tourists! | ig: wayfar.ing
