Ok back to being evil and into borderlands again for a short time period. What I love about literally any cut scene with Wainwright and Hammerlock is that they so often communicate without even talking to each other. Like obviously not in actual game play because. They only have <walking> <talking> <varied gestures> animations, but from the few cut scenes we do see of them they actually are great at communicating what they are feeling without saying anything. Like they are rather small things but even with the cut scene before Aurelia, Wainwright never says a word but God damn if he isn't still reacting and responding. I don't know maybe I'm just a fucking nerd for body language but I'm love them so so much
What if I used my money to put Wainlock on everybody's dash. What if I did that. What if I did a silly little goof like that

Wonderlands Wainlock au where it's like. Wainwright is some guy (heavily implied to be a werewolf) that owns a haunted as fuck old dusty mansion and the haunted as fuck old dusty mansion is the location where you do quests. The final boss of his quest is M*nty's ghost possessing a bunch of furniture. Alistair is his monster hunter/adventurer boyfriend who you meet in several different sidequest all across the world map. Most of said sidequests involve hunting big monsters.
I do not know why I didn't see this until I went to look at my drafts but I agree. Gearbox include them for the love of God it'd be so so good I would cry. Let them be in the game and then also kiss

How long did that take??? How did their first meeting go?? How did meeting each other's family (if Wainwright has seen other Hammerlock family members) go? What do they do for date nights when there aren't bandits running around? WHEN WAS THE FIRST I LOVE YOU??? GEARBOX AND/OR TUMBLR USER READING THIS I NEED TO KNOW
Okay so for the whole who asked who out I recommend Put My Head On Your Shoulder by Jakobslock on AO3. That fic is basically entirely what I think of them asking eachother out.
As for their first meeting, see Chance Encounters by the same author on AO3. Yeah, Ren is the one who was the CEO of Wainlock before me and they had some pretty huge brain ideas on stuff.
For the family thing: Wainwright has not met any other member of Hammerlock's family (except for Aurelia) because holy shit do they hate him. Idk yet abt the reverse though, haven't thought of that.
What do they do for date nights? Slow dancing, reading, cheesy classic restaurant dates, sometimes they just both sit on the porch smoking and drinking and telling stories. Yknow, old man stuff.
Their first "I love you" was said by Alistair on their maybe 6th or 7th date. Obviously, Wainwright replied "I... I love ya too".
