Human kindness is real and it lives on with public transit
To explain,
I walk to the bus stop every morning, it sucks (my legs are NOT made for walking) but I'm terrified of driving and there's hardly any parking at my uni anyway. Plus the busses here are comfy and chill.
Well today I was waiting for the bus, I got there 20ish minutes early per usual, and the northbound driver asked what bus I was waiting for. I said southbound, because that's where my University is. They said that they are actually starting their route at the Uni bus stop and could take me in 9 minutes instead of 30, since it would be a straight shot with no other stops til then.
I forgot to swipe my card (free transit comes with being a student), but they didn't even ask me to, it was a quiet 9 minutes, afterwards I thanked them and walked to my class leisurely, as I had an extra 30+ minutes to spare.
This isn't the only reason I think busses and bus drivers are rad as hell (I've seen so many cute dogs, I've had my questions patiently answered, I've seen people pay for others when their cards decline) but it just happened 10 or so minutes ago. So I thought I'd explain while I am waiting for class to start.
Anyway thank your bus drivers for real
